Hey fellas....long time. Just started reading the blog again and see a lot of the og's are still here and Jan is still the best blogger on the site.
Well it's been a rough one this year after a couple of near misses. I have the same gripes as most. But I'm mainly baffled by the Boyle over Mcilrath decision. Like one of you guys said how do regular Joe's like us see it and the organization does not.
Honestly I try to stay positive but a part of me wants this over with. I'm just sick of the same ol questions and maybe some changes by losing will stop the same ol same ol.
Well I will leave it at that I'm glad to be back chatting with true knowledgeable die hards and hopefully something good happens no matter what happens on Saturday.

This team owes us a much much better effort and performance later today. If anything, use that one free 60 min effort for tomorrow and go all in and send this back to the garden for a last game. Don't lose on their ice.

If the Rangers are willing to eat a few million per, there will be a taker on Nash this summer.

Hurricanes should be a consideration, they have the cap space & actually need to spend a lot of money. Maybe unload him without taking any $ back. Be a poop deal for a poop player back but gets you cap space.

Agree 100%. Im glad I was listening to that abomination on and off at work. If they mirror the last game I would be absolutely surprised. I'm calling it.... Girardi with the game winner

. I'd take it. They mirror game fours effort and I would deal about 3/4 of the team. I'm watching every team down in series fight. I mean for gods sake Philly has won two in a row. They're halfway to my prediction of them winning four straight . How about some fight at 3pm? I'll be at work checking the phone.

Honestly I'm not surprised about the Flygirls coming back. Washington has a lot of pressure on them. And they haven't proven anything yet that they can close anything out. They gotta win it next game.

I will be watching tomorrow. And yeah get rid of whoever if it's another poop show.

Super Joe the nail in LA's coffin???

Hard to fathom ...@ 2-1 i was cautious but expecting big effort...
very early easy goal kinda put the fire out ..all down hill from there...
NYR didnt play 6 months of reg season hockey to fizzle out....
MUST get early lead or keep it @ Zero... fall behind ..done!
I for 1 will assume there is enuff talentto find the game best suited to beat
Pitt& make them adjust to us back in NY
Gotta hope we can find a game that works .... L G R

I want another Jan piece to talk to u all again ....

While I'm not expecting another 3-1 series comeback a "man up" type effort & a win today is not asking for too much. If they lay down again & get whooped I would not be surprised if AV gets axed. I never would have imagined saying that a week ago but that was a scary sad effort in GM 4.

Show some Ranger pride & some personal guts & show up today! It's not too much to ask.

I think that's what you meant isn't it? Or name your core that's still 1 of the best in the league? Not looking to disrupt, but I think you guys don't realise the talent that's not playing anymore.
- Aussiepenguin

You mean the core that was responsible for another 100pt season? Yeah that core is STILL one of the best in the league. It includes Stepan, Brassard, Zuccarello, Nash, Kreider, Miller, McDonagh, Lundqvist. Notice there is only 1 defenseman I include now in the core, coincidentally, defense was our biggest problem this year. I'm looking forward to include McIlrath and Skjei into our core starting next year. And hopefully Buchnvech. Sorry, but still looks pretty solid to me. Please name me how many 100pt teams there were this year. And also keep in mind this is probably a small transition year for this team.

Alan Quine. Joonas Donskoi. Colton Parayko. Young kids all fixtures on teams in the playoffs that are rookies. Eventually you turn the page on veterans when the rookies are better. Dylan McIlrath, I feel for you. You won't play today as he will ride Boyle one last time. If Boyle does not play he will dress Raphael "Pk Subban" Diaz. Where was our pp savior all year in Diaz? Coach still doesn't understand it's the mentality of the guys on the pp. pass first, not enough quick puck movement. Could be the last games for Boyle, Yandle etc.

Diaz was working on the PP yesterday, if he comes in for Skjei instead of Boyle then AV fully deserves to get fired

Get shutout, play Tanner glass on third line with Hayes and Lindberg . What's next? A Diaz for Skjei swap?

WAY to early to play hypothetical on this, but if there's a move you think we stay in house & promote Ulfie? Or just wipe it clean & fire the whole staff, start fresh?

I don't know of any coaches that are the "next coach" and after what happened with Eakins I'm not keen on going with a newbie coach with this team, honestly Ulfie wouldn't be a bad choice, I want Arniel Gina and Leetch as the PP coach, like you said though this is all hypothetical at this point

It's so frankin sad that we have to hope they show pride.

If they lay an egg I want the core blown up. That would be they rolled over to get Torts fired and then AV in a 4 year span. Eff that hit the road if you don't care to play for your city or fans.

It just makes no sense, these guys have been through wars together, I can't pick one guy who doesn't want to be here, I Just don't get it, they're better than this much better

I can take losing, that is fine. Sometimes you aren't the best team. But I just can't take no effort roll over and die hockey. To wait a full year to get back to the playoffs. That just drives me crazy.

How do you blow up the core though? I'm assuming the players everyone wants moved are Girardi, Staal and Nash. All three have NTCs or NMCs and contracts that would be difficult to move. After the Clarkson trade I will never say never. But it's a tall task, and the returns would probably be minimal at this point.

You can't trade everyone, but trades are there to be made. I mean if the flyers can trade VL anyone is movable at some price

It's almost like they need to be blasted today. Who knows if they need an early exit or what. I still think bringing the head coach back is something that should not happen. They coasted enough during the year, they should be the freshest team in the playoffs. Especially after game 4, they checked out of that game a minute in.

Nash has a limited NTC and Girardi's limited kicks in this summer, Nash is the one I want gone more than anyone, that $7.5 should be better spent and it's not all his fault or is he not a valuable player but he's not the difference maker he's supposed to be, I'm on the fence with Hayes as well, I want to resign Miller and Kreider, Glass can finally go, Stalberg in the same deal OK but more money he can go get it somewhere else

Keep in mind the Flyers has to retain 50% on Vinny.

I don't think Girardi is movable, too much term left. Staal has a lot of term left, but I think he may be movable, but you have to get him to waive. I think Nash could bring back a pretty good return, but who would replace him, and again, he has to waive. Trading Lundqvist would just be insane and would be a white flag.
