I agree with this, I do not think Andersen will be traded until it is clear Gibson is ready to be the real deal. I think they have a nice combination right now and might go another year with these two. Trading to Calgary might be out of the question as well, they don't want another Kipper going to the Flames, lol.

Don't see this happening. Gibson already signed a three year extension, and Ducks still have other RFA's they need to sign. They really don't have the cap space to sign Andersen, and I doubt he would be willing to sign a cap friendly 1 or 2 year deal. Then we also have the expansion draft to think about (especially if team can only protect one goalie).

Really out of the box: Andersen leads the Ducks to the promised land, and they decide to trade Gibson instead.

I've said it befor and I know many aren't in favour of this but the way Murray is playing my guess is Marc Andre Fleury will be available.

I would prefer Anderson given the chance but as its been mentioned I don't think the ducks would be happy to send him our way.

My thoughts on Reimer is that it's just plugging a hole. Better off just signing Ramo in my opinion!

I like Ramo and hope he finds a job somewhere, but it's more than likely that he won't be ready for the start of the season and we can't take a chance on him returning to form.

I would be ok with grabbing MAF if the price was really low. If we don't like what we see from him/Gillies develops into something then we could just leave him unprotected for the expansion draft.

Over the last five seasons, here are the save percentages for a few of the potential goalie targets for the flames that have been bantered around:

Bishop: .922
Andersen: .918
MAF: .917
Reimer: .913

Probably not too much of stretch to say Reimer would move up in SP if not for Toronto's awesomeness.

If I'm flames management why would i give up assets and/or picks for one of the other guys when I could sign Reimer for less than or roughly equal to Ramo or Hiller's contract and buy time to develop my younger goalies?

Not saying Reimer is the complete answer to the flames goaltending issues, but in terms of cost (picks/assets/cap space) to benefit (increase in save percentage) he seems the best fit.
