Ok, lets talk... Probably a young drunk who hasn't a clue of who or what Potvin is?

Ur turn....

- Ur Not Me

Does it matter who Potvin is? If he dumped it on just some "regular" play-by-play guy does it make it less of a ludicrous infraction? He also dumped beer on Steve Goldstein as well.

No one can watch that game and not see the refs were aweful. I've just accepted it. Forget the goal but this is the second time ny gets a two man adv. ny does the exact same thing on the pk and no call. I'm not mad and I'm not surprised. Florida has dealt with this all year although not at the pace of other years. Teams with strong support or from Canada get the calls. I've accepted it. As we saw last night that doesn't mean Florida can't still win. I felt the first three games were fair this was not. Blackhawks are getting the calls and stlouis can win. So can Florida.

My guess it was a beer tossed from the upper deck and it landed around them. People are acting like he was targeted. From some of the posts you would think somebody walked up to them and poured it on his head

Yes....teams from Canada always get the calls.....

Wait, please remove your head from your rectum and start to watch some games. Your statement is just ludicrous. If you want to make a case about a few teams (Rangers, LA, Chicago and Boston) getting better results from the referees I might listen, but even that is a very, very slight advantage.

As to this blog from OP....this is complete and utter homerism. I am not a fan of either team and I have watched the series and it isn't nearly as lopsided as the blogger believes. Not one of those goals should have counted, including Huberdeau sliding into the netminder and bringing the puck with him.

Now, I agree that FLA has been the better team and that they could easily be up 3-1 or be done at 4-0, but the reality is that they haven't.

This is a young team and they gave up a ton of third period leads down the stretch.....because they get scared, plain and simple. Over time they will learn to play with the lead better, but this year won't be that year.

I also find it funny that OP talked about how the Florida fans would come out...I was actually excited to see it....wow, did they ever disappoint. Now, more than ever, I am convinced that the NHL would be better served if these guys were playing in Seattle or Quebec.

I know, right? I mean, with all these Canadian teams in the playoffs right now, clearly the refs are favoring them...

Lets talk about the Isles "fan" tossing beer on Potvin.
- PanthersGoal

To be fair, if I was there and was close enough, I may pour a beer on Potvin too. He is brutal to listen to.... Much more enjoyed when Bill Lindsey was calling with Goldie.

Arizona was given the most power play opportunities in the league this past season. We were given the 4th most.

You start off making great points here, and then you turn into someone I wouldn't help cross the street if both of your legs were broken and your wheel chair was taken away from you by a group of mean teenagers. Our attendance is what it is. Game one with 17.5k and game two with 18.3k fills most barns in this league. You wanna talk attendance, what about the Islanders barn last night (and all season for that matter)? Also, I'm pretty sure that even though there's no official rule, if you're the fan of a team that has already once relocated, you should stay quiet.

Can't agree with most of this blog. The officiating has been questionable for both sides. My main concern is getting the first line productive, although they're getting the chances. Even series that hasn't been won by much of either side. It's 2-2 with us having home adv. That I like!
- PanthersGoal

The officiating has been even. It may be bad or good, but most importantly it has been fair to both sides. I don't see how you can possibly think that the goals that have been disallowed on both sides were not properly disallowed. They have multiple cameras and multiple sets of eyes in multiple cities making sure they get these calls right. The goal reviews have been spot on.

What "strong support" do the Isles get? The Isles have been s**t on around hockey for the better part of the last 15 years. If you're going to try to argue that the league plays favorites, the treatment of the Isles should not be Exhibit "A" in support of that position.

Doesn't that kinda luck just blow? My poor uncle decided to try and beat some traffic leaving Shea in 1986 game 6 against Boston. Had to hear it on the radio. What a shame.

When he told me, I should have taken it as a sign that I would be destined for a lifetime of misery as a Mets fan and should have followed my brother to the Yankees. Oh well...

I don't normally drink a lot at games, but I was god damn plastered and peeing every 30 seconds. I figured I had time during the intermission (was too drunk to remember that playoff OT intermission is 15 min vs. the usual 18) but the bathrooms at the Coliseum were so terrible that the line took forever.

I was keeping an eye on twitter and immediately saw "Tavares scores 15 sec in, Isles win"

and pretty much threw my hands up in disgust/elation, if that's possible.

That's brutal about your uncle. Pretty much the same thing as my buddies, who went to the Jets/Dolphins Monday Night Miracle game with this rich girl that nobody really liked but still did nice things anyway. She insisted that they leave to beat traffic because the Jets were getting blown out and they couldn't really argue because her dad gave them the tix for free.

I still don't think he's forgiven her.

Anyone who thinks Huberdeau's no-goal was a good goal doesn't know the NHL rules (and that includes that blowhard Pierre McGuire). It was a pad save; then the puck was kicked in by Huberdeau, who also pushed Greiss into the net. That's a no-goal at least two different ways.

The offsides in game 3 was clearly offsides upon video replay. If you want to make hay about how the offsides was immaterial to the goal, then take it up with the league in the offseason and not the officials making the proper call based on the current rules. This kind of video replay now happens in tennis, football, basketball and, even, baseball as well so get yourself some cheese to go with your gripe whine.

How else are the Panthers being jobbed by the refs in this series?
