So if you were Hakstol who would you put in net on Friday?

Gotta go with Neuvirth at this point I would think.

yes and yes, agree. Last night was the first game the Flyers didn't look a step behind the Crapitals. The first three games they started strong only to fade away, they looked and played tired.

No way should Manning get a game, if Wilson didn't for basically the same type of hit on Jake. I'd say the hit on Jake was slightly worse on the targeting.

Neuvirth plays the rest of the games barring an injury of some kind.

He plays if they keep winning and somehow win this series.

Things could always change in the 2nd or third round.

Looked like a pretty blatant hit to the head and maybe jumping into the hit. Obviously the character of the guy he hits doesn't matter and I know you're just saying that make a point. Here is the hit and a fair questioning of if it will be supplementary discipline: http://www.hockeyfeed.com...th-a-huge-hit-to-the-head

Meh, he was turning then dropping to his knee to fire the puck all while Manning was closing in. that's a joke if he gets anything

Exactly how I see it as well.

Medvedev is more talented than Manning but I think Medvedev is also more wildly inconsistent. I like Manning more than most as a 6/7

I would probably stick with Neuvirth. If they win the series stick with him until it doesn't work.

Experience and leadership are nice, but on-ice skill trumps them (to me).
- jmatchett383

I understand but he's a vet, a leader, a big money contract and a guy likely to be paired with Schultz, while taking on Ov and the tougher competition. He's also likely to bring offense from the blue line and carry the puck up ice.

Maybe I am slow but I thought Manning and Gudas were out a lot against Ovechkin line.

That is the problem...hes made some smart plays defensively...but I need two hands to count how many times he has messed up a rush forward up the ice

He hasn't brought offense from the blue line and carried the puck up the ice much this season. In past seasons, yes, but he's been pretty ineffective offensively this year, and his transition game has been shot to poop.

Also, contract cost should never be considered. They were willing to send AMac to Lehigh Valley, and since there's no cap in the playoffs, they could healthy scratch him.

And yes, leadership and "veteran" should count. But when your bread and butter is being an offensive defeseman and you're not providing offense, you're not effective.

Can't take Neuvirth out now, he played too damn well!
