This is a bad angle and it's still clear targeting. It looks much worse from the front

- Victoro311

Yes of course, leaving feet to tackle guy is clearly bworse than a two hand deliberate chop to face.

Yeah it is. That's assault with a 200 lbs weapon compared to assault with a 1.5 lbs weapon

Staal play happened in another season. I agree that Staal should have been penalized and/or suspended.

If you watch Letang slash with unbiased eyes, there isn't a fan in the NHL who doesn't think it should be suspension. The guy lost teeth for chri*t sake

- rrentz

Im really not trying to be biased. I think he had his stick up, got hit and his stick stayed up and momentum took him into Stalberg. Penalty yes, suspension no. Just because someone loses their teeth doesnt mean its a dirty play. Accidents happen.

Didn't say it's worse, but targeting is also supposed to be a suspendable offense. I'm saying that the refs and the league suck for both sides

I try to look at these things from the perspective of, if a teammate had been where Stalberg was, does it still happen?

Interesting POV, I say yes.

It sure looked like he followed thru intentionally. I immediately thought he'd be suspended for 2 when I saw the replay. Letang loses his mind sometimes. We are super lucky he's not out.

Wow! You need to slow your roll. You have it backwards but all in all not surprising.
- Bobd62

Staal did it twice. How is that not intentional? Youre either a fool, or a troll.

Ok now that I can watch the video Ryan has in his blog, I take it back. Letang absorbs the hit and whips around and then it does look like he slashes Stalberg in the face. Totally suspension worthy.

I apologize for my previous stupidity. I was going off what I saw last night and could find online, which wasnt that same view.

I refuse to apologize for my future stupidity though. And it will happen.

Even the idiots on NHL tonight were talking about it like it was the reason the Rangers didn't win last night. EJ is a dbag..
- Mino42

Anyone with a hockey IQ knows the Rags simply got outplayed in every facet. Saying the no call on Letang which would have given the Rags a power play - said power play has been impotent ... yep, I guess that is the reason they lost, instead of only scoring one and giving up 3.

Yeah im willing to eat crow on that one. The reply I saw was up higher and when I watched it live last night it didnt seem that bad. Now I can see why people would question if he had intent. League punishment is a joke so Im not surprised he wasnt suspended.

On that same note Im really glad he wasnt suspended but he is a hot head who does stupid things. Him and Geno both need to learn how to reign it in.

Well you still cant tell intent from the replay so Ill stick with the fact that it may not have been intentional. Twice would be intentional though...but you should know that as a Rangers fan.

As I stated ... you could have an opinion on this regarding suspension if that thug of yours Staal got what he deserved last year. You are whining like every nome Ranger fan to the point that you look like idiots. Again, your fan base said Staal's actions "it's hockey", but yet when something happens to one of your's it demands a suspension?

You no what uncalled for. Your starting to sound like your road rage / Bruce lee buddy who trolled his own fans and got banned. Whatever good luck tom but you probably don't think you need it.
