I'm amazed this got glossed over. Nash supermanned Daley. If we lost and RW or any of us made mention of that we'd be accused of whining and making excuses - Victoro311
I remember this hit, but most of it was blocked by the boards so I couldn't really tell how ugly it was. Even from replay you can't tell. I do remember Daley getting treated for a cut after it. |

Looks like Nash's forearm/elbow connects with Daley's head |

The Nash hit wasnt bad, looked worse than it was. He definitely left his feet a little, but Daley was falling backwards as he came in. Was it a nice, clean hit? No. But it also wasn't a cheap shot. |

Leaving the ice to hit someone is targeting by definition. That's like saying a cross check wasn't cheap because the other player didn't hit the board hard. |

I Was going to say the same thing. Technically yes he should be suspended or at least a hearing, but the NHL will not do that they want to see Sid vs Ovechkin so bad they will make sure the Pens get out of this round. That being said I am rooting for the Pens all the way since I am a fan of theirs after the Islanders (weird I know but I was a Pens fan first) and of course to knock out the Rangers - kasperrko
Get a clue to all of you that think the NHL has a conspiracy theory allowing some franchises to receive special treatment. That's ABSURD! Do you really think the other owners, who are investing millions of their cash into their teams, would allow this special treatment. I certainly do not! And always laugh at people who believe this absurdity.

This is what I mean. Every team has calls that are missed, and that Staal high stick was similar to Brouer's last night. Missed calls as well, but Letang slash happened last night, not years ago.
Not being a homer either. My opinion is that these no calls, no matter who it is on is begging for other team to retaliate - rrentz
Agreed... and that's where the NHL loses it's way.... So someone from the Rangers retaliates tomorrow.... now everyone is made hyper aware of the situation by the media and the twittersphere.... so now Letang gets slashed hard or run and it's a 5 minute major and a game.
Great... you got retaliation and revenge and stood up for teammates but what does that get in the long run.
If they just suspend and litigate like they should, then were not having these discussions. Instead they try and find ways why it wasn't on purpose so they don't have to do anything. |

It's gotten to the point where Pens fans don't even pay attention anymore. We hear it all the time. |

The best one is that the NHL struck a deal with Mario to have the Pens win the Crosby lottery in order to save the franchise when it would have been way better for the league if Sid, and the Pens franchise for that matter, had gone to a bigger market. |

League favors the Pens... League wants the Pens to go far due to revenue... Crosby gets all the calls... The loto was rigged in the Pens favor... blah blah blah. |

That theory has a possibility about being true. Though if it was true it's because the other owners didn't want a distressed franchise killing their team values. I don't think its accurate but it's possible. Of course if the owners have conspired to give teams top picks you then someone needs to explain to me Edmonton. |

difference between Staal and letang - Staal's action were intentional. Letang was tied up with another guy when he swung his stick and its far tougher to figure out intent.
Letang slash isn't as bad as Duncan Keith's and his history is lighter. Keith got one game so a suspension on Letang at worst should be 1 period. - sditulli
Wow! You need to slow your roll. You have it backwards but all in all not surprising. |

Just my two cents, if Letang is going to purposely two hand a guy across the face, wouldn't he target someone more worthwhile than a plug like Stalberg? If he's going to risk a serious penalty/suspension don't you think he'd go after Kreider/Stepan/Nash/McD and make it worth the risk? Players who actually make a difference in this series. He would definitely have the opportunity since they love to forecheck. At least Staal was crushing Crosby in the back of the head with his crosschecks. He's targeting a star and the risk is worth the reward if he injures the guy (just ask Rinaldo) and gets himself suspended. Any Ranger fan would let Letang chop Stalberg's head off to get him suspended for a few games. |

You couldnt have been that big of a fan if youre now a fan of the Islanders. Why dont you go back to your board and cheer for your coward team that intentionally lost their last two games to ensure they wouldnt have to face the Pens. - stackthepads
Coward team?
How stupid of them to sit out their best players before the playoffs whwn their number one defenseman and starting goaltender was already injured. How many points did Crosby and Letang get the last couple games of the season? Give me a (frank)ing break. You think your team is so much better than they actually are. |
