Fun...non Pens...fact of the day...

Tonight will be the 18th straight playoff game that the Sharks opponent has been the LA Kings

edit

It sounds even worse when you consider they lost in 7 in 2012-13 and 2013-14...then missed the playoffs last year...so technically they have been playing only the Kings in the playoffs since the 2012-13 season

That was smarts. We proved we can play with you guys. I actually wanted to but whatever who know we might meet, Be careful what you wish for
- kasperrko

You most certainly did not prove you could play with us. We took the series 3-1 this year, put up 5 on you twice, and shut you out once. Even the game that we only beat you 2-1 was never really in doubt. Can you play with us? Maybe. But you proved jack against us this season.

Playoffs are a different animal I can only hope that if we meet in the finals Fleury is net.
If we did not have NAbakov in that series a few years back we would have won no problem.

so many nyr fans whining here about the letang slash. I mean ye it was bad but staal was just as bad if not worse considering he hit sid TWICE in the NECK on a guy that have had 2 really bad concussions...

Staal play happened in another season. I agree that Staal should have been penalized and/or suspended.

If you watch Letang slash with unbiased eyes, there isn't a fan in the NHL who doesn't think it should be suspension. The guy lost teeth for chri*t sake

- rrentz

Players lose teeth in this game. Sorry.

Doesn't matter if its this year or last. Something you clowns forget was Staal's actions with Crosby were suspendible. He didn't even get a penalty. Also remember, Letang took a stick to the face earlier in the game and no call. So ...

Again, was it a penalty? Sure. I laugh at the suggestion of a suspension from Rags fans considering he have suspendible ammo to throw back and those didn't even have a penalty attached to them as well.

This is what I mean. Every team has calls that are missed, and that Staal high stick was similar to Brouer's last night. Missed calls as well, but Letang slash happened last night, not years ago.

Not being a homer either. My opinion is that these no calls, no matter who it is on is begging for other team to retaliate

We go to their board and play nice...they come here and...well...they don't really return the favor.

But hey...it's the playoffs...what do you expect?

I'm of the opinion Letang should have been suspended...but so should other guys for other things that never get reviewed...including Staal's cross checks and Chara's punches to Sid's jaw after he came back from losing half his teeth.

So...you know...let them complain.

I'm sure Stalberg or Tanner Glass or someone else from the Rags will take a run at Tanger next game. They have been doing it for three games already.

It would be nice if he can keep his cool and just play great hockey.

17 shots, they could win a lot of games if they limit the other team to 17 shots a game, great team effort!

I think the biggest thing with the Staal crosscheck was at the time, Pens fans were rightfully upset, and Rangers fans were saying things like "this is playoff hockey" and trying to write it off as nothing wrong.

At least with the Letang situation, most of us believe it was reckless and should have been at the very least penalized.

And what in the Isles' recent playoff history leads you to believe that you flip a switch during the post season to speak so confidently about the playoffs being a different season? When was the last round one you got out of? Remember, when you jumped ship you decided to bandwagon the Islanders, not the Rangers.

Are you kidding that Stalberg fella needs to watch where he's skating, skated right into that stick. If I was Letang I'd be pissed no o e cares about the chip Mr. Stalbergermiesterberger put in his stick!

^Exactly. This is why we keep being up Staal. Not because we really care all that much anymore, but just to remind you how the majority of your fan base reacted. We're not being nearly as biased or unreasonable, so your demands for us to concede more ground than any fan of any team would are being mocked.

I feel way more relaxed watching the game with Murray in the net than Zatkoff as I'm sure everyone else does. The team did play much better in front of him than they did with Zats in Game 2 but I'm just thankful that Murray is back in there.

I don't know if/when we'll see MAF with his concussion problems. I just read that he isn't at practice today.

- acdc1206

I don't necessarily agree, if they play like they did last night and limit the opponent to 17 shots, 2 high danger shots and no shots inside 25' in the 3rd period, I feel pretty comfortable regardless of whose in net. Hell I'd feel comfortable with them winning with me in net if they play that way.

It's funny, I don't remember near this kind of outrage from Ranger fans after Staal did what he did. I seem to recall lot's of excuses. So excuse me if I don't get worked up over this.

If this makes you happy, yes I agree both should have been suspended.

BTW... You might want to check with the fired training staff. He didn't actually have concussions, that's the reason almost the whole staff was fired. He was misdiagnosed.
- MiloslavHorava

I'm pretty sure it was just the second one that was misdiagnosed but yes, you are right. That was just an abysmal comedy of errors
