Sorry I just dont believe that at all. I am not sticking up for the Rangers but it seems come playoff time certain teams can take certain liberties. It happens to teams every year.
- kasperrko

Well if you dont believe it, you dont watch playoff hockey. The aforementioned Staal vs Crosby's neck is a perfect example. But yeah, the league favors the Pens.

Penguins won last night....can we talk about that?

As much as I think the Letang play is suspension worthy in a perfect world where the NHL cares about player safety, it amuses me that it appears some folks act like this is the first time someone has taken a cheap two hander to the face and nothing was called. Did I miss something? Did Stralman die last night as a result? No? Then get over it and move on. That's what the NHL's attitude was, is, has been and always will be. Letang's particular act of violence joins the list of about 200 that occur around the league every year that the department of player safety should take action on, but does not.

Its merely a convenient focal point to mask the concern that the Penguins strangled the life out of their transition game and have now beaten the Rangers 2 of 3 with a third string and back up goalie in net.

But you can get down with "Thats very dirty by Letang but I really don't think it happens if he isn't being checked the exact same time."

Similar to the few Hawks fans who said Keith wasn't intentionally swinging his stick at Coyle's head.

- MiloslavHorava

Except that was someone clearly swinging his stick, while this wasnt. I think that makes a large difference.

The only thing I disagree with here is what I bolded. That was split second heat of the moment poop while he was having a check finished on him. He wasnt looking to see if refs were or werent looking and if had an opportunity.
- MattStrat

I honestly just watched it for the first time and it was a vicious slash and he was most certainly looking around to see if he got caught as he slowly skated back up ice. If that were done to Letang Ryan Wilson would have written an entire blog about the incident crying for justice.
Anyone who doesn't think that was a vicious intent to injure is completely out of their minds or doesn't have an ounce of objectivity. Letang has to have the smallest level of sportmanship in the league. Guy flies off the handle if he's not getting his way like a little child.

I see. That explains why the Penguins advance to the finals every year....oh wait.

This is a league that can't even hold an all star game without turning it into a complete farce and ultimately gets outsmarted by JOHN FREAKING SCOTT!!! Do you really think that this same group is really capable of pulling off some sort of conspiratorial action to favor one team over another?

I must be missing something because even in the replays I see Tanger getting hit and it propelling him forward at the guy. I dont see him reeling back and swining his stick at his head.

Potato, Potatoe I guess.

Right? I thought I was the only one who noticed that.
- Victoro311

You're not the only one who noticed that. It's video editing to enhance the look of it. A lot of simpletons just dont see it. It all happened in a split second. It wasn't premeditated.

I HOPE NOT!!! That would be terrible if a guy in Tampa Bay suddenly dies because a guy in NY gets hit in the face with a stick.

Huh? So them not making it to the finals every year somehow explains that turds like Letang don't get penalized for two hand slashing people in their faces?

Wow for once we agree

I have seen LEtang all year get away with out a lot that was not called.

Maybe it is the Napoleon complex since he is a smaller dude I dont know, but he seems to think he can do what he wants and the league makes him get away with it.

Ryan Wilson would have wrote an entire blog about the event if the roles were reversed and every, single one of you guys would have been complaining about it. Give me a break you make it seem like none of us have seen this rodeo before

Lets face it someone on the Islanders did that they would have gotten a ten minute misconduct attempt to inure and suspended at least 5 games

Kind of like McD crying to the refs last night. Almost every single player in the league complains to the refs.

I feel way more relaxed watching the game with Murray in the net than Zatkoff as I'm sure everyone else does. The team did play much better in front of him than they did with Zats in Game 2 but I'm just thankful that Murray is back in there.

I don't know if/when we'll see MAF with his concussion problems. I just read that he isn't at practice today.

So now you're comparing a two handed slash to someone's face because he's getting hit to complaining to the refs about a non call?

Yes, the league is out for the Islanders. No point in them even playing any more games.

If Kris Letang played for Nashville, the clowns from the ranger and Islander fan base wouldn't care about it. Pretty simple. Maybe a case of "little brother" syndrome this year?
