Neuvirth played 4 games ago. Just sayin. - jmatchett383
well yea that was against a team who didnt even wanna play and they scored two goals in the first 10 minutes, then they skated the game away by allowing us to score 5 straight. believe me, neuvirth is not the right choice here, just a move hak is making purely to try and wake up the team. which is not necessary in game 4 down 0-3, maybe in january or something |

Why are we assuming 100% of the bracelets thrown made it to the ice. |

Why?
Primarily because he is our starter. His play single-handedly got them a playoff spot with that stretch run. The team has scored 2 goals in 4 games. Despite the weird 5 hole goal, he has been shellacked and still has stood on his head for the most part.
If we are pointing fingers, Mason is the last one to be pointed at.
Wanna make changes? How about we dont sit on our (frank)ing asses while shorthanded. How about we shuffle the PP up... A PP that has been abysmal for about 3 months.
How about we put Medvedev.
There are probably 15 changes I make before taking Mason out, and putting in a goalie who hasnt played in over a month. - jak521
The bold above is exactly what I have a major problem with...yes we've been playing with house money for a while now, however, the coaching staff needed to make adjustments to the PP and penalty kill for quite a while and didn't. Once teams started pressuring the left side with G and Ghost, the PP fell apart. The PK has been poope all year. Their lack of adjustments, or at least attempting something different, has been the main difference in this series.

Carchidi says Schenn and Voracek swapping spots.
Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull 1m1 minute ago
Looks like Schenn will go to LW on struggling top line, replacing Voracek. |

And it didn't. That doesn't mean they shouldn't now, though. - jmatchett383
If I, as a coach, thought 1 of the black aces could handle it, I'd put them in the lineup. Med is gone, not much point getting him playoff experience. |

should have happened in game 2 to be honest. - sjk540
No it shouldnt have happened at all.
Mason has let up 8 goals against while shorthanded, and not a single one of them did he have a chance. We sink back and play a 1-1-2 or small passive box. Johansson has literally been allowed to park right in front of Mason, and AO has had a few open shots.
The 4 EVEN strength goals that he has given up consisted of a bad luck play (TOTALLY on Mason) and a play where the purest shooter in the game beat him on a snap shot. That happens.
Aside from those, he hasnt had a chance.
SO, Mason has allowed two goals that he really should have saved over a 4 game series.
Oddly enough, the Flyers have only scored two goals total... this entire series. |

I honestly don't think the choice of goalie for this evening will make any difference. Yes, Mason has let in some real clunkers, but at the same time the team has only scored 2 goals all series. How many PP goals do the Caps have at this point? Is it 7 or 8 now out of 12 total goals? They need to stay out of the damn box, be aggressive on the PK and for heaven's sake, score a PP goal! |

"spine-chilling pregame tribute"
Yeah, I specially got chills with the: "Fvck The Pens!" part. Just...Chilling.
Damn, you'd think Bill was channeling his inner Coatesy with all the delusional homerism being flung around like bracelets in this story.
Yup, if it wasn't for some bad bounces, bad officiating and just plain bad luck, the Flyers would clearly have a 3-0 lead in this series. No doubt. The Caps are one fortunate team and don't know who they're messing with. Flyers just playing rope a dope is all. They'll win this in 7 just like they did against Bahstin!

It's not about experience, it's about icing the best team. If you think he gives you a better chance of winning that another guy, or you think him playing will help shake things up a bit, then he should be in. |

Safe to say Medvedev has played his last game as a Flyer.

No, but the issue was the ice being littered with them and with players being hit by them. If a few people threw them and they landed in the stands, they're disgraceful bumholes, but it doesn't make the news. So yes, the issue is the ones that made it onto the ice. |

At this point, it's all closing the barn doors after the horses have escaped. The offense has been terrible, the PK has been bad, the Caps have gotten a lot of the breaks (and made their own luck) and Mason has let in 2 goals in back-to-back games which should have never hit the net in the playoffs.
Neuvirth helped get the team here - without him, as with Mason, there is no playoffs for the Flyers. So if he's in, I have no problem with it. And of course he isn't going to fare any better than Mase if the Flyers, starting with the 1st line, don't start putting up some points.
And I don't think it's about pointing fingers at all. If it is, you're pointing at every single player on the team, and the coaches. And probably the ice girls.

So, also no point in playing Gagner either, since he's gone after the season? If that's your barometer, then he should be sitting as well. |
