it's amazing how badly they struggle to get the puck out of their end when the puck is on the wall. not just that last 30 seconds. it happened about 6 times during the period when they lost a simple battle and it turns into a goddamn goat rope.

Dmen are just not making quick enough decisions or not giving the forwards a good pass on the tape to allow the forwards speed out of the zone. Its something they did really well to get into the playoffs.

We all know the defense needs additional reinforcements. Thank god that Ghost grew so much this year. How much further would the team be behind if he played at a Manning level (not a knock on Manning, he is just a fringe NHL dman)

that may be right, but he loses a lot of one on one battles, especially if he doesn't manage to pin his guy. If the player turns a couple of time, he usually manages to leave our man behind.

The contact between the two players wasnt dirty, the steering of an out of control Laughton into the boards was reckless and dangerous, and if someone calls it dirty.. you know what? I'm not sure I totally disagree.

I don't even know if it's that. His problem looks to be a lack of confidence. He's just not doing the same kind of things he was doing last year, and I can't imagine that a foot injury is all to blame. The dude had shades of Jagr the beginning of 2014-2015 when it came to protecting the puck and being creative. He hasn't looked like that in a long time, and I think started losing that even before the injury.
