What happened? Just got home and see Laughton dead on the ice. Was it a questionable hit? - JFlyers00
he was going down the wing, puck eluded him, and that (frank)tard karlsson shoved him while he was going full speed toward the corner. he careened into the boards back/shoulder first.
not dirty. just reckless. unnecessary. |

flat out dangerous play, when you rob a player of his control going into the boards, you are asking for disaster. - Doc_Sarcasm
Absolutely. I don't like the play at all. Laughton could be in real trouble. |

as long as i'm thinking about it, how is ovechkin able to take 97 strides at full speed and hit someone and have it not be charging? because that's how he hits. every single time. |

and an unnecessary shove when the puck was gone. that's not a "hockey play". that's a reckless hit. and i'm getting sick to (frank)ing death of the caps running our guys through the (frank)ing boards. - hammarby31
Couldn't agree more. Players know when the other guy is off balance and vulnerable. What is a hockey play when the player is with puck and upright is not so when puck is not at blade and player is off balance. And the shoving player knows that exactly. Not saying they wish the extent of injury but the primary intent is to lay some hurting.

He leaves his skates almost every time too. Schenn hits like that too |

Because...playoffs and the rules change, cross checks and slashes are free game until a ref randomly calls one. Plus charging is rarely called. |

it's amazing how badly they struggle to get the puck out of their end when the puck is on the wall. not just that last 30 seconds. it happened about 6 times during the period when they lost a simple battle and it turns into a goddamn goat rope. |

There was nothing wrong with the play just unfortunate circumstances. If the roles were reversed would you be defending a flyer?

no i wouldn't. i don't like those shoves towards the boards from 5+ feet away, especially in a situation like that. nothing good is going to come from it. the puck is gone. he's not separating him. it's unnecessary. |

Laughton looked like he was moving his arm...so that's a good sign...went in real hard....pretty vulnerable position...hoping Gudas puts one of their guys in the 3rd row before this ones over.
Hopefully kids OK....no give on those boards. |

Not sure if your series scapegoat glasses are still on but Manning has been the least of the flyers problems. |

You, might not like it but over regulating every potential dangerous play in a high speed and dangerous sport is over the top.
No more slap shots because they are inaccurate and might cause head damage. In fact skates are sharp and might cut a throat.
Should I continue? I don't like it either but it wasn't in malice. |
