absolutely brutal. at some point you would expect someone on the PK to do something other than stand there and act like a worthless shot blocker. it's like Torts on steroids. - wilsonecho91

To me it looks like his butt end gets caught against the glass and forces his stick forward. - jak521
I'd like to see another angle, but his forearm seems to extend forward in a deliberate manner. Either way, it's a penalty in game. The play is right there, and two refs didn't see it. |

I still don't understand the game plan. In order to prevent injury, I'd rather my guys go out and pressure the puck every chance they get than stand there waiting for pucks to hit them. After game two, this should've been clear. Letting Nick Backstrom skate around in low corner with the puck on his stick for 15-20 seconds is absolutely absurd. - FloHaake
this also sparks me to violence. |

Standing around watching the puck while a man down doesn't work in any game in any level. I'd be furious if in my men's league games I saw guys doing that. Defense is about taking away time and space, and when you're man down, that should be your number one goal. Blocking shots is nice, but you should let your goalie do most of that.
I too am now getting sparked to violence just talking about this. |

They changed the PK game plan, but somehow made it worse than the regular season.
Lappy is out of his depth at this level of coaching, but there's no shame in going back to player development. |

me too. last flyers game i ever saw in the spectrum. wilsonecho was there too. i had to drive back to vermont after that game. it's amazing i didn't get 97 tickets and kill 47 people in the process. one of the angriest days ever. and i mean ever. - hammarby31
My buddy and I followed up this game by being verbally taunted by a large group of NJ fans in the parking lot. We ended up getting on their bus. Nothing good came of that until some other Flyers fans came and drug us off the bus. He had a Brodeur name plate and I ended up with half of a Devils hat.
Other than the last home game of the Pens series in 2008 that was the craziest parking lot melee I've ever been involved in. |

Funny, a guy who blocked shots with his face now coaches a PK that insists on standing in front of shots. |

Lappy should be selling popcorn. He can't coach a PK unit for poop. |

I was almost certain he was getting the boot with/after Berube. I hope this offseason Haks can find his guy to mesh well with what he's already successful implemented into our system. |

Swinging stick to the face that knocks out three teeth = no discipline.
Saying offensive words = 1 game + $5,000 fine.
The problem is not that the latter penalty is too harsh, is that's the former is stupidly lenient. |

I said before the series started Schenn should have stayed on the top line. |

Can't believe he didn't get more than the $5k for doing this at the refs, twice:

you never know. I'm hoping for at least one last hurrah tonight and avoid the sweep. That would be great. |

For sure. Making the playoffs this year ahead of schedule is definitely a positive step, that said you never want to get swept especially on home ice. |

There are just so many better words to chirp a guy with too. I prefer "loser" with an expletive in front of it or just laugh at them when they get tough. |

I wouldn't mind seeing St. Louis win the Cup. Great hockey town, those fans deserve a Cup. They have been pretty loyal for 40+ years. |
