Stammer would go in right as 1C, regardless of Matthews etc. Even if Kadri slipped down to being 3C, there's no issue with him being a 4.5m 3C if you have Willie, Sosh, Hyman, Brown, Marner, 1st rounder 2016 etc on ELCs...

True but it may become an issue 2 or 3 years from now and when ELCs are up. Also, you always have to have the expansion draft in mind as well. I can see Naz as the Nordiques' #1C.  |

According to some report yesterday playoff hockey viewership is down 61% in Canada.
Now, I am sure beer companies will have these stats too to re-negotiate their advertising deals. Or is that done with networks?
Either way, it'll affect things. |

So the commissioner of the NHL emphasizes the positives (higher US ratings) and fails to mention the negatives (lower Canadian ratings, due to no Canadian teams making the playoffs - something he has absolutely no control over)?

Only thing I can see growing is by adding a team into a market. You'd get tickets, local network viewership and merchandise. I am unsure how much of an effect it will have though. |
