True enough that 12 picks is a lot, but at minimum they do have 2 years to sign the guys they want to keep. Can always pull some trades like with Grabner. Turn a bunch of guys you don't care about into 1 guy you don't care about and free up contract spots.
Not like it's impossible to make some trades, but not sure how many are that likely. They've talked plenty about getting Hunter some picks, well now they've got some. I don't think they'd move too many of those. |

Use the picks to move up. Use quantity to acquire better quality. But stay ahead of the average in quantity. Doesn't hurt to have a greater shot at a sleeper who could turn into the next Zetterberg. |

Tarasenko is still the kicker. Kuznetsov made sense because he has always been extremely inconsistent. This is the only season in his career he ever seemed to put it together even going back to junior and his KHL days...Tarasenko though...(frank)ing hell he was ranked top-3 in his draft and had an amazing year but fell to 16...HOW?His 13 goals is still the record for draft eligible KHL players by far.  |

I watched the final game. Was fun. I'm glad Magnitogorsk won again because they are the little engine that could in the K. Their owner has thrown a lot of his own wealth at the team to build it starting with recruiting Malkin and Kulemin all the way back in 2004.
Also I would love for the Leafs to add Ilya Vorobyov to their coaching staff. I think in 5 years people will look on him as a real asset that was never used. |
