Anyone know how they will do the Lottery?
Will it be with the cards starting at 30 and work their way to #1?
Or will they show the just show the balls being picked for the top 3?

only the non playoffs team participate in the draw so 14 teams, they go from 14 to 1st (I think that's how it was in the past)

No clue, but if they went the card route try could only go to 14. They only involve the teams that didn't make the playoffs.

I don't think they'll do it that way though. Think about it. For argument sake, say the Bruins aren't the 14th team.

Then you have to wait 9 slots to find out well are they third, second, or first? I don't like it that way.

I hope they only reveal the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st picks.

Imagine it coming down to the 1st overall pick and the Leafs haven't been shown yet only to see Carolina's logo revealed. Leafs pick 4th!

If they counted down from 14 to 1 that would solve this issue. They would be pulled from the envelope at 4 before the top 3 were shown.

Edit: never mind, I see what you wee doing

If I had mad interwebz skills, I'd do some sorta meme involving the draft and Steve Harvey.

Just sayin'...

Completely agree.
If you could get Trouba.....and it cost Kadri...you DO IT!

People will come out and say we're Kadri haters.....but you can find a 2nd/3rd line center......players like Trouba.....hard to find.

I'm a Kadri lover and agree with this 100%.

Going to have to agree but ONLY if we can come up with a decent #1 option right now to slot it. I think IF we were to get Stamkos or someone in that #1 slot, and/or get lucky and draft Matthews, we keep Nylander at center and that is pretty good depth there. 3rd and 4th liners we have young cheap options, and Marner can slot in on the wing so not too bad.

Be nice to add Trouba, but I just can't see Winnipeg losing the guy, and don't know how things will play out with our depth, the draft, and July 1st to really say pull that trigger. Almost want it to just be a July 1st or later deal so we'd know and have a better picture of how bad it may or may not hurt us up the middle.

Well, apart from Kadri/JVR/Komarov, who on this roster would get any real value back in a trade?

It's actually a compliment, best trading chip we have but with the centre ice situation as it is within the Leafs, it's a tough decision for me.

Not worth talking about trading him, Nylander, Marner, because it's too unlikely. So we're left with Kadri, even though that's pretty close to too unlikely too.

why bother though..he took a fair contract by the sounds of it because he wants to stay in Toronto ...pretty Richard move to trade him by the Leafs if they did...just doesnt make sense

also for another RFA who needs a contract also...which I doubt lands in the same price range

If they sign Stamkos and get Matthews they still dont trade him
