I'm not trying to refute what you may have as info or anything, just stating that if I were to say today "There's talk that Ovechkin wants out and wants to play for a team that was a childhood favorite", and then follow that up days later with another statement - that's just me saying the same thing and perpetuating it rather than any other sources backing it up.

Your quote you made of Whaley doesn't exactly say much, btw. "Doug, would you trade for Pick X"

"I'll consider any move I can!"

yeah it's pretty vague at this point, that's for sure. Maybe it's dumb to take his word for it, but when it comes to the roster, he's been pretty honest. Last year, he said he'd be hugley active in FA and this year he said he wouldn't, except his own players. He heavily hinted at the Sammy Watkins pick-trade prior to the draft as well. Just saying he has an honest track record and doesn't mind refuting any points that he disagrees with.

I personally wouldn't like all the Bills would lose trading up to that spot, but it's definitely a meaty rumor.

Honestly, if the Bills can nab an ACTUAL (frank)ING STARTING QB!!!! (sorry....been a long time), the cost can't be too high.

Consider them like we do the Sabres. Who on that team is untouchable? I don't follow them as closely as I used to, but relating them to the Sabres who have a 23 man roster and I think we'd say 4 are untouchable, right? Who would that % of Bills be?

Locking up the huge key of QB and already having that (potentially) great WR in Watkins is like the trade/signing of O'Reilly and then drafting Eichel.

I would disagree, We have a ton of cap room and why not go for it. Imagine the lines like this.

Kane-Oreilly-New player/Fasching
Reinhart-Eichel-New player
Moulson-Girgenson-Ennis-
Foligno-Larsson-Gionta-

Stamkos could be one of the new players and we have our high draft pick.( #1-3 please!!!!) If that 3rd line could regain chemistry from two years ago, that was our line 1. Now our good 3rd line becomes a great 4th line.

I like what you're thinking there
Fasching might start in Rochester, but if we get Vesey or Cagguila then one of them are probably ready. Although one of those guys should probably be on the 3rd line & move Ennis up.
That's a really nice top12 if Moulson can remember how to play hockey
