What I find odd about it is not how often the Leafs end up with a top-3 pick... that does seem a little low, but not unreasonable.

It is more that there seems to be very little difference between the Leafs "success" and that of other teams. It seems if you run it 100 times or so, Edmonton, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, Columbus Ottawa etc... will all end up with pretty much the same number of top-3 picks as the Leafs.

I have never seen the differences between the teams be equal to the differences in the "odds".

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear cut in that you go with Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi (sp?). If you're 3rd you go for whichever of the 3 is left.

But being the idiot he is I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went off the board.

Not sure, I was tied up myself. I did watch the first half of the Caps / Flyers game. Flyers keep making stupid mistakes that lead to the Caps goals, I guess it is like that in every game. But the Flyers seem to make big mistakes, missing coverage and costing them.
