So do I, soooooo much. As Frenchie says, the Leafs should not only sign Zaitsev, but they should also sign Yarulin.

If the rumours are true and Boston traded Hamilton to Calgary due to the fear of an offer sheet from Chiarelli then they should have let him. Would have been a better pick.

But Edmonton should absolutely extend and offer sheet to Seth Jones. Whether Jones wants to sign with them or not remains to be seen.

Can someone explain how Nielsen played for the Marlies? Is he not too young to play in the A due to the same rule that would prevent Marner from playing there next year? Is this a Jr temporary call-up type of situation?

When a players junior season ends they can be called to the AHL/ECHL of their affiliated team for the remainder of that affiliates season.

As for next season, Nielsen’s late birthday, Nov. 13, allows him to be eligible for both the American Hockey League or a return to junior hockey in the WHL. But will the Marlies have an open spot for him? Might he force their hand and create a spot for himself with strong play
