The only one I called out was Dragon. I read every blog and 95% of the comments because I like the constant shannigans but Dragon's comments on how we should all start listening to him more often really got to me. If I was against you, I would express it.

And I fully agree with you. I even said that Dragon deserved a bit of ribbing. His comments, while I don't really think are intentional, come off very arrogant and pompous at times. I was just looking forward to discussing things that are worth discussing today, rather than playing that old record on repeat

Ask Whiskey how he feels about the Granlund - Shink trade? That's something new?

People have been on dragon's case for the last few threads now. I am not saying he doesn't deserve a bit of ribbing with maybe how he puts words into writing in some of his responses, but the whole WD topic with Dragon tends to spark major debates in which things get a little heaty.

Sorry. Didn't know this has a bit of history. I've been popping in and out without doing a lot of back reading.

Saying that, I sometimes take the devil's advocate role just to make the conversation more interesting. Emotion makes the debate more enjoyable to read.

If we were all circle jerkers or whiners this would be a boring place to visit.

Sounds like O'Sullivan is still not a Burrows fan...

Patrick O'Sullivan ✔ ‎@realPOSULLIVAN
Andrew Shaw should miss some time for his words. Or is this also part of the code? Let's hear it Burrows supporters....What a joke.

I (frank)ing hate that (frank). Books and tweets while Burrows plays hockey. Talk about milking a subject.

Devils advocate is great when you can support it. Some don't bother even researching (like oh lets just say the names of people for example) and make these claims as fact and tell you that you don't get it when you respond or challenge the idea. Then everything just goes sideways

Ditto, I can sympathize for his struggles, but bringing burrows into this was unnecessary. He's starting to come across a lot like Canseco did

No. Vantel posts a lot. He's a poolie so he likes to talk potential lines and rosters and trades and draft picks... I can't engage in that because I don't see the point unless you are managing an actual hockey team or playing EAs NHL series. But guys who engage in pools can talk about it for hours and hours.

I kind of skim past it. But Vantel is one of the drivers of these threads. Easily adds 5 or 6 pages with his topics. And I like the fact his opinion doesn't jibe with many on here.

Even though dragons been on here for a long time I'm just discovering him again because of his avatar. It's changed how I read his posts. Funny how an avatar has that affect.

Kassian VS Hodgson

At first, I really liked the move because of the much needed size and grit the team needs (and still needs). Its unfortunate Kassian had a substance abuse issue and I think in another life, he might have had better success. Overall, the trade itself was a wash imo. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

Schneider VS Horvat

Again, at first this was a huge blow to the team for the simple fact that Schneider AND Luongo were both pushed out of town close to the same time. Two #1 Goalies gone. Schneider is a beast and it didnt make me happy. When we drafted Horvat, I was a bit relieved because he was a really hard working kid. He hasnt disappointed thusfar and considering what we got back in Markstrom from the Luongo trade, I liked the idea that re-tooling/re-building had begun in Gillis' last year. Honestly, its a really hard decision, but I will side with Bo because no matter how you look at it, the future is more important at the point we are at then and now.

Sutter VS Bonino

I loved this trade when it happened. I liked it for the fact that I think Sutter was better than some might have predicted he would be. The reason is because he was behind Crosby and Malkin. When would he have got a chance to really show what he was capable of there? He was also a guy that played most games and hadnt had an injury prone career.... boy did I speak too soon... If he comes back next year and plays at least 78 games then I bet we see why he was brought in. He has had success here when he played and I really hope going forward that continues. Sutter>Bonino

Forsling VS Clendening

I dont know enough about these guys to comment.

Shink VS Granlund

I actually was a bit disappointed initially because Shink really didnt get a decent shot to prove himself at the NHL level. All the while, we had many new guys getting shots. At the same time, Benning has really proven to me that he likes to mix things up and he has a good eye for talent. He was watching the prospects like a hawk and I believe his expertise surpasses mine by a long shot. A while before we see a result on this trade going in either direction but I do like the consistency of Benning bringing in 2 way players. I didnt think we needed another C but I guess because we got something out of Baertschi, maybe he felt bad and gave the Flames a hometown boy to see what they could do with him. He might not of fit the Canucks system? Still be some time before we see how this works out for either side.

WD VS TG

Willie has done a superb job here in 2 seasons with a team in transition of replacing its core players. Benning has brought in Baertschi, Etem, Granlund, and Tryamkin as very cheap young players to see if they have what it takes to play in the NHL full time and where they fit. The Canucks have a lot of room for guys to come in and show the world what they can bring to the table. I think Willie has been a big part mentally in training these kids to stay focused. His NHL ability as a coach is still new and I am undecided as to what he could bring to a team like Washington that has star players and depth. We only know he was brought in because of the youth movement and I think as far as that area is concerned, we still have a lot of unknowns and to single WD as the problem is unjust and unwarranted. There are still a ton of things he brings that we dont see for someone like Linden to speak so highly of him. We did make the playoffs last year and I was surprised.

TG is a different coach and seems to also find ways to win with less than perfect players. He has proven he knows when to push guys and finds the right guys to play game in and game out. I dont watch him a lot but his history has given him a really solid chance to be an NHL coach but again, a lot of unknowns.

I wouldnt say I favor either coach, but they both seem to get young players to step up their games. The difference is that WD has made that jump and has a much different opposition to face each night. I still think his job here wasnt to do anything more than mould the young minds and he had enough time with some to say whether its working. Next year will be a fresh slate and you never know.

Vantel/Dragon VS Pro scouts

Pro Scouts>Vantel>Dragon. Nuff said.

I like the fact that Vantel isn't completely close minded. He has valid points and if you oppose his opinion he will at least acknowledge that you have a right to it.

The emergence of Donskoi has helped tremendously.

Burns has been an absolute force on the Blue line for a couple seasons now, but he is in his prime right now.

Easy there *coach*killer.

Don't forget Jones. He really has been underrated in his first full season. A huge part to the success of the team and a reason why I like SJ to create some upsets in the west.
