we're not going to win this series playing the way we are
we need to get chippy and give the caps hell even if we're going to lose
I'd like so see gudas nail more people and other players throw hits like schenn did at the end of the game
who knows we might turn the tide of this series

The Honda in the corner is distracting.

C'mon, this is definitely an NHL caliber arena.

That's nuts. Take the damn ticket. What? You're never going to another game ever because they might lose because your 175 lb body in the stands is shifting all the friggin' karma.

C'mon man. You're above this thinking.

- mayorofangrytown

Real reason is my Pop is sick and I only have 4 days here so I'm going to spend it with him.
We can watch the game from his room (I think, not sure about which cable channels we can get)

But my record at games is not good.

Also I'm up to 178 lbs now.

They hate it. The owners hate it, the front office hates it, the fans hate it.

They just did it to put pressure on Nassau to get a new building. It's not going to work. The best they can get is a refurbishing of the old Coliseum. They be in Quebec as soon as the looney rebounds.

Kind of how Vancouver moved Schneider to NJ.

- J35Bacher

I'm still pissed that happened and I cannot believe that the Flyers couldn't have offered more than NJ did. Franking Lou. lol

Architects co-designed the sleek glass-and-steel, clamshell-like Barclays Center about 200,000 square feet smaller than the original Gehry design.

Am I the only one who finds this hilarious?

Not since I remember going to their old building to see the Flyers crush them. JvR completing the hat trick and the Flyers fans chanting "This is our house" and the Isles fans responding "You can have it"

Although the Islanders own one of the NHL’s top home records, their fans have been quite sour about the move, complaining about obstructed-view seating, jacked-up ticket prices, the nixing of longtime team traditions and feeling like second-class citizens in a building monopolized by the NBA’s Nets.

Jonathan Ledecky — who heads a group of investors set to replace Wang as the team’s majority owner July 1 — apparently is listening. A source close to the Islanders and other industry sources say he’s enamored with possibly moving the team to Queens or back to Long Island.

In either scenario, a new arena likely would have to be built — an expensive proposition considering it cost $1 billion to open Barclays Center in 2012. Another option is renegotiating the Barclays Center lease to salvage the relationship, sources said.

Renegotiating the lease would do nothing for these fan-facing issues: obstructed-view seating, jacked-up ticket prices, the nixing of longtime team traditions and feeling like second-class citizens in a building monopolized by the NBA’s Nets. It would, however, increase the thickness of ownership's wallet.

A new building could address all of the fan-facing issues but would likely have a negative effect on the bottom line.

Any guesses as to what will happen?

Luke Richardson leaving Ottawa organization. He was someone I wanted before Hakstol was hired. Did well with the youth in Ottawa. Would prefer him to Gordon in LHV.

why can't they continue at barclays ?

i live a stone's throw from it and have been to several games. obviously the dumb sightline problem is dumb, but i've never heard a single fan say they hate it

they inundate my local before every game so i'm unfortunately exposed to the fanbase quite frequently

- -davies-

I don't live near it but from everything I've heard and read the Front office and ownership feel the building is far, far too Nets centric. The season ticket holders in feed back has said the same thing. They feel like they're at an away game. While the players aren't openly complaining there's been a lot of off the record stuff about having to take the train into games and rent cars to get home plus the frequency of hotel stays in the Brooklyn area.

With such a small seating area for hockey there's a huge push back on all the seats they had to discount or give away this season. Barclays is new, they aren't going to do renovations to accommodate the hockey team. So there's no remedy for that or the players complaints.

When discontent can't be addressed it'll only grow. I expect to hear a lot more about it in the summer, especially after some players move off the team and can open up about the situation.

Hmmm...I thought the renovations were just a band-aid and they are going to get a new MSG.

You're wrong. They have no choice. The infrastructure needs to be rebuilt and the building they're putting in place of it is going to house the transit authority. They already knew this was going to happen before the renovations.

I'm not sure of the time line because it's been a moving target but i believe they're going to build the New MSG fairly close to where the current one stands.

One of the things that separates regular season from playoff play is that you have to play 4-7 games in a row against the same opponent who focuses all of their attention on exploiting your weaknesses... and that's what we have here.

So how to we flip this to our advantage? A number of people have pointed out that our bottom 6 forwards are outplaying theirs, but we're not getting goals because our bottom 6 aren't scorers... so aside from hoping/praying for the unlikely to happen (e.g. a 5-goal series from PEB - sorry not to pick on him, but as an example)... try double-shifting our line 1 or 2 against their line 3 or 4... or, now at home with the last change, getting them out there for an offensive-zone faceoff?

I know, I shouldn't quit my day job to assistant coach for Hak... but just trying to think of something here.

Still plenty of seats for tonight's game, at face value. Which is still hefty. But tonight is shaping up to be a good one with some sort of Snider Tribute plus the first home game in the playoffs.

Also, bracelets!!!!
