The "ggiu" is pronounced as "jew."

If that's the case, then why play Medvedev? He's not very proficient on the PK (any more than our other options) and he's not really a PP quarterback. So if special teams are the issue, and not ES play, then why make the change?

Passing it out of the zone, skating it out of the zone, stuff like that.

I do agree. But the OP said that 5v5 wasn't the issue, and the things you mentioned are done primarily at 5v5.

I get it. But I also just can't bring myself to say "WE made the playoffs, Great." and have that be it.

There is no guarantee that once we have players like Provorov or Koneny or Sanheim that we will be there again.

I understand this team is less talented. But I can't just be happy being here if they get swept. The direction looks nice but it doesn't promise anything.

- J35Bacher

I hate to say it, but with the way Holtby's playing, they could get swept

I don't want them to get swept, because people will ignore all the progress they've made

But if Holtby plays like he did in Game 2, they just might get swept. That dude won 48 games this year for a reason

Honestly, 3 years at $3.2M per.
- jmatchett383

I was thinking 2 at about 3 mil. But your terms aren't bad either

I am still a little unsure of him and if Morin can be ready possibly by middle of next season I think he could play Gudas role and maybe bring a little more offense.

Yes, but that's the kind of contract that you can leave unprotected in the expansion draft and not feel horrible if they take him, but you would be comfortable carrying it, too.

I think he's due 1.5 to 2 given the current level of contracts. If they get him back for less that would be a decent bargain.

This thread has had Steven Wright and Mitch Hedberg jokes, REO Speedwagon references and that argument about Wayne Simmonds. What a great morning read.

Speaking of Radko, he needs to be let off his leash a little.

Guy has the potential to play a punishing game. Let him play.

Ahh, my bad for jumping in there. Offense is definitely an issue, unless 1 goal can somehow win the Flyers 16 games. Then the D, which is quite a bit further down the issues list. Then the goalie, taking up a small sliver of the delicious pie chart.

I'm not saying don't play him, just that I don't think Medvedev over Manning makes them a contender.

Nope. Nothing about this D makes them a contender. It's more a matter of Why not? and What can it hurt?

I feel Manning has been actually one of our better defenders. So we don't want to change Mason because he is playing well but change one of the defenders that is.

I think Streit has been subpar and so has MacDonald.

Biggest problem is our leaders aren't doing enough. Best forward so far has been schenn and the 4th line
