There's no way I want to see Crawford behind the bench riding the refs so hard that we are getting poop call after poop call while our stars are knocked out with elbows(like Naslund) and not even drawing a call for that.... those days are over I hope. Burrows will be gone soon... we wont have anyone left that the refs hate and screw over all night.

Aside from Larkin Det has very little to be excited about. For a team that supposedly does everything right , they look les than impressive

I think it's more Tampa, defending on the 5 on 3 was great, allowing only 2 shots.

Even before the series started I knew DET was going nowhere. They are in the just make the playoffs mode. Not sure that's the way to go. It's ok to just make the playoffs if you are trending up, but if you are on the decline , it's not a good policy

Yeah I agree but Det has a record of playoff appearances to maintain. When they miss the playoffs they can start a rebuild.
If the Canucks make the playoffs next year I will be quite disappointed.

If they get rid of Hamhuis and Burrows and make the playoffs I consider it a big step up.

I do know what you mean though.

I think we hit the bottom for the last 2 of 3 years. I like our rookies and look forward to this years pick and Boeser.

I look at next year as year 3 of the rebuild.

I know you are getting at we are trending down ( with the Sedins) , but I think next year will trend up.

I laughed at the "Detroit model" reference for years now. Just like everyone else, they have a shelf life. Theirs had been longer than most is all. This has not been a good decade for them at all.

With that being said. They did and excellent job of drafting, developing and trading over the many years. That also made them desirable to UFA's.

We'll definitely be better next year, just with less injuries. I just hope they don't go the expensive, long term UFA route.

They need smart signings.

There is only one player that any team should be looking at long term. Keep the deals decent term and decent salary.

I should go buy some scratch and wins. I just did my daily 10 draft simulations and had the Canucks in the top 3 7 of 10 times. 2x 1st, 4x2nd, 1x3rd.

Usually 5 or 6 times out of 10 I get 5th.

Thanks Carol.

I am of the no to Crawford as well. He is blackballed from ever coaching here again.

If WD was fired the only guy on my list at this point would be Mactavish.

Her : Honey how come you don't take me out to that Greek restaurant anymore for breakfast ?

Me : Huh? What Greek restaurant ?

Her : You know the Greek restaurant on Oak Street.

Me : ( more confused) There is no Greek restaurant on Oak street that we go too.

Her: ( angry now) You know DeDutch.

I'd love to see the Caps win this year, Ovi is probably my favorite player in the leauge. His game is so much funner to watch than Sid.
