Which of our RFAs do we not re-sign?

Baertschi
Granlund
Etem
Vey
Pedan
Blomstrand
Grenier
Zalewski

- A_SteamingLombardi

Not sure if you are asking for opinions or predictions but I think JB walks away from Blomstrand, Zalewski and Grenier and brings the rest back.

I would only sign Baertschi, Etem and Zalewski.

Not even a qualifying offer? We have Rodin coming in so there's a spot taken.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I am not sure how it works but I would leave the three of them open to offer sheet , see if there are any suckers ,I mean takers

He will sign Granlund, simply to avoid the backlash that would accompany a decision like that from the Vancouver fans.

Yeah this trade has the benefit of hindsight, but at the time no one else knew of his substance issue. I just have never liked Prust, I thought he was worse than Glass so for me thats why it was bad at the time. Now with the benefit of how everything played out, I am still a little disappointed that it was a 5th rounder to get rid of a problem. It gets my pick for worst only because I dont mind most of the trades

i must have mentioned it a least 3 times that Kassian was known to party hard and the grapevine had him hanging out with low level drug dealers from Abbottsford...

what else did you need to know??????

Shink had speed and a good shot. His two way game was a problem though.
- thundachunk

Yes...and also the fact that basically all of his points in Utica came via PP. very inconsistent 5/5 play.

Not a chance he does that. Pedan can skate. He is big. His game will develop into a solid 4/5 Dman.

While I am critical of some of Benning's moves, I really don't think he gives a poop about what fans think, which I appreciate.
I do think that he will resign Granlund because they feel he is a two way C and they got burnt with C depth this year.

He needs to save face by re-signing Granlund. Too many of the Canucks fanbase feelings were hurt when he traded a former Gillis 1st round pick for Granlund. People would lose their minds and you know it!

I think the forward conversion experiment showed what mgmt thought of him, I think there are lots of options out there for an 8th D/4th liner if they don't want to continue developing him.

I picked nashville over ducks based on Laviolette over Bodreau. Laviolette wins in the playoffs Bodreau does not. Luckily the ducks have maclean as assistant. That helps. But they wont be a match for laviolette.
- SMBDragon

I picked Ducs over Nashville cuz i wanna see Kesler Bieksa Santorelli go up against the Kings.

Ducks vs. Kings would be a great series.

i'd also like to see Florida do well cuz of Willie and Luo...

In his last interview with the 1040 he said he wanted to use him as a D next year

I'm starting to think we can't let them walk. If they buy out Higgins and Burrows our forwards are Hank, Dan, Hansen, Dorsett, Sutter, Bo, Sven, JV, Rodin and a handful of RFAs and ELCs, pretty bleak.

Hard to do that as a forward.... I think he will be back but personally bringing him back to try and jam him in a square hole doesn't make any sense to me.

Good topic!
Hard to say what we have with many of these guys, in 2-3 years they could be serviceable in the lineup. I think this is pretty much key to JB`s job: which of these guys has that kind of upside. Hard to judge!

Hard to imagine him trading for Granlund (who needs to gain some wieght) and Pedan (who needs a lot of experience) and not keeping them, as he and staff clearly saw upside enough to warrant trade.
