lol we should move on from the Granlund vs Shink thing. We were doing soo well of not talking about it. This is exactly what I meant manvan when you bring up nearly every trade, out of the blue, you are going to open up a can of worms. - Codes1087
So many of the criers didnt even have Shink on their radar until he was traded. They just wanted to whine about everything JB.

OK - now tell me something.
Horvat, Etem, Virtanen, Boeser, McCann, Gaunce, Friesen, Zalewski, Grenier, 2016 Draft pick, Baertschi, Granlund.
Please tell me where the undersized Shinkaruk fits in for secondary scoring - Codes1087
Right between Horvat and Virtanen, but under Baerschi and Etem but on top of Zalewski and looking up to Granlund, McCann, 2016 draft pick, Boeser and equal to Friesen and Grenier....analysis...total injustice of asset management |

Neither was Hansen look how he turned out. - thundachunk
It took many years . Will Canucks fans wait again?
Even still . he preformed well under his duty while players were injured but we have 5 better centres. |

I do like how he can stickhandle in a phone booth but if you are wrong ,you are wrong. He creates chances but we are lacking finishers and he also is not a finisher. - VANTEL
I thought as a 13th forward he can be useful because he is able to play center and wing. Could play up and down the line up so wouldn't disrupt line combinations too much. |

It's a hockey forum, to discuss Vancouver related hockey things. It's the offseason, where generally you look back on the year that was. I'm not arguing about these trades and who won or who lost the trade. I think every team makes good and bad trades.
I can change the subject to how Van is going to sign Stamkos. It's going to happen, dude. - manvanfan

The Canucks knew. Some of the fans like me knew. I don't mean just hearing rumors from other fans either. There were a lot of loose lips in the organization about this. Even in the head office. I heard it from a close friend who is a Canucks employee and from my uncle who was friends with a couple of the Canuck suits.
Kassians main problem was booze but like so many people who binge on coke, they can say no until they get booze into them,,, and then they cannot say no. - boonerbuck
Yeah I figured he dabbled but I never really assumed it was to the point of an issue, so my initial thoughts on the trade didnt factor that in. Just would've hoped he would've got anyone but Prust in return |

Fair points. They probably should have waived Kassian instead. It's funny because Habs fans loved Prust - CanuckDon
Prust was effective before his injury. Prust was effective in Montreal. If Kassian wasnt going to produce like a top 6 and rarely played physical.... then Prust could do what Kassian was doing for us on the bottom 6. We were not going to find a young NHL player that could immediately give us grit for Kassian. Instead of waiving they tried to fill a hole instead. |

I'm looking forward to being able to see some of the top programs come through (and it seems they will be the replacement tenant at the Pacific Coliseum if they get it), but I think their hopes of keeping homegrown talent wont actually pan out. The history of some schools and the allure of the American campus lifestyle will work against them IMO |

Even clean and sober Kassian is a bottom 6 forward on the worst team of the last decade.
Much ado about nothing

Exactly what I thought too. Who do you use him or Granlund - VANTEL
Technically, can keep both. 14 forwards and 7 D. That or they rotate them in and out. They bring different qualities to the table. Strictly 4th line role, i'd use Granlund. More scoring role, Vey. Vey is showing improvement in offensive numbers. |
