So who do we take with the 33rd?
-boonerbuck
Sean Day is a pretty big Dman, i think hes rated around there, wouldnt be upset with him |

I would like to see Green up here as an assistant to WD or have him replace Lidster for that matter. Maybe Green wants a HC position but realistically he should be groomed as an assistant. - LordHumungous
He will be in a HC job in the NHL soon. |

I wouldnt mind trading up 10-15 spots to get Fabbro, hes a high rated first round offensive defense man, those dont come around to much. |

Something to think about regarding coaches. Linden has said that WD will be back next year. Marc Crawford (burned bridges when he left Dallas) but also coached the 1OA Mathews in Europe. Should the Nucks win the lottery. I wonder if Crow would be back as an assistant- maybe on the PP? If things don't start off well, he could take over from WD. Linden played for him. AQ met with him a few weeks back |

Ben Hutton would probably be a 1st round pick if redone today. Very Late 1st.
- classic321
I think Vantel and I were the only ones who even knew who Hutton was until this year. I've maybe said or thought before that he would be a first round pick if we redrafted his draft year, goes to show that you guys should spend less time listening to so called professional scouts, and more time listening to me and Vantel, but only listen to Vantel when he agrees with me because otherwise he is wrong, which is allot. |

This 'hire Crow if we get Matthews' concept keeps coming up. Maybe it would be nice to have some additional insight into what makes the kid tick and it might make his transition to the NHL easier if he has a really good relationship with Crawford (although I haven't heard anywhere that this is the case), but other than those marginal intangibles I'm not sure he's a good fit here.
Although Willie's skills in chastising officials could use some improvement, I don't see Crawford as a standby replacement for Desjardins. Would he really offer any significant benefit? |

I was thinking if Green goes to Ottawa like people are saying, sign Crawford to coach Utica. That way if you do get rid of WD you have an experienced coach that could come up. |

WD has admitted himself that he can't stand firm on lines... and doesn't seem to be able to make mid game changes effectively. Crow would have the respect or at least the work for you attitude from the remaining vets, and his experience in Europe would give him the ability to work with the younger players.
He was the winningest coach by age 48, second only to Bowman. Proven NHL coaching experience that's what a young team needs. - Nocupssince70

nah I'd bring Crow up here and send Lidster to Utica where he could get some head coach experience |

Saw him at the prospect game and he's noticeable because of his height, but he's more of a lanky guy. Didn't seem all that special but then neither did Chychrun.
With Tryamkin looking like he'll settle in to be a regular NHLer, I'm thinking the Canucks need more than just size. They should be trying to find someone who has the potential to bring the whole package and be that true #1 guy. Size of 6'3" or more, 220+lbs, good skater, good defensive instincts, bit of a mean streak, and a really good shot. Thinking more along the lines of Shea Weber rather than Chara.
If they're not drafting top 3, spend those 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks on these type of guys. Maybe Chychrun, Day and whoever best projects to fit that profile in the 3rd round. Hope they get lucky and one or two of them develops into what they need.
