I totally disagree that a line of 10/93-28-17 is a second line on a playoff team, I do however agree that they need 1-2 more good players in the top 6. Raffl is a good 3rd liner. Gagner isn't a top 6 guy on a good team.

thing is come playoffs scoring is tougher and teams key on the top line so secondary scoring becomes vital. case in point look at the good job the Flyers have done on OV-Backstrom-Oshie. I pray to the hockey gods Konecny brings skill and speed and Lindblom size and goals.

fans are so (frank)ing fickle. the Flyers always went all in year after yr to the detriment of the team. they finally get a GM that has a long range plan and a few yrs in people are losing patience already. when was the last time this organization had a group of prospects rated as high as they do now? 80's? Hextall inherited some contracts that I thought would hinder the team for years to come (Pronger/Vinny) that he was able to shed.

I am not being fickle at all. But I think fans also underestimate how much pain and patience is enough. Just because the Flyers ignored the future and splurged on the present does not mean the gods will reward them with the slightest change of strategy. A sequence of first rounds 10-20 picks may not do it.

I totally agree. I feel bad for him. It's happened to me before in ice and ball hockey. Good teams pat you on the pads and bail you out.

They've had a 5 on 3 and even better a 4 on 3 and nothing. Unacceptable. That's how you get beaten out in 4 or 5 games.
