I find myself asking this question often after reading your posts. Are you a Flyers fan? Honest question...

Neither does your way.

But on one hand Stamkos is a know quantity where picks and prospects and European FA's aren't.

For every Panarin there is a Jrir Dopita.

With Stamkos age he can be part of the plan for the now and future. He doesn't cost you picks and he fills a need.

I don't know why there is this set order of:

Draft, develop, once better sign FA.

I disagree about the "known quantity." Not related, but he has suffered significant injuries 2 of the last 3 years (well, for this year's playoff, anyway) and his goals (pro-rated) have gone down for 3 straight years, as have his points for 4 years. If he was continually putting up 50G/85 points, that's one thing. But he hasn't been.

He'll likely command the biggest contract in the league, and means you are paying your second line center $8M+. For me, I'd stay away.

About as childish as assuming someone is a liberal and using it as a derogatory term when they disagree with you about something non-political. Yes, you are a child, and you act like a petulant brat who only wants to make people miserable. You are a very bad, mean-spirited person, and I feel sorry for you.

I would say he is a pretty consistent goal scorer. He is a player you still need to worry about on the PP and 5v5 when he has the puck.

Now I will say if it is in the 11-12 range I wouldn't go there. 10 and below I would make a play for him/

I would say he is a pretty consistent goal scorer. He is a player you still need to worry about on the PP and 5v5 when he has the puck.

Now I will say if it is in the 11-12 range I wouldn't go there. 10 and below I would make a play for him/

He's a dynamic player and would be the best forward on the team. He would also give you a sniper. But I don't think you're getting him for $10M or lower.

Sharp, Marchand, Oshie, Kane, Hornqvist are some of the few UFA's in 2017 and 2018.

Do they continue to produce after getting their money?

Also a lot of the UFA's are around the 28, 29 and above range. It's rare a 26 year old superstar hits FA.

I guess my thing is when talking free agency is that Stamkos isnt a must have. But when people say spend money on guys like Okposo or Lucic or Beodker I would rather then just pony up for the superstar if I spend money. If that makes sense. Also looking down the road I don't see player like Stamkos hitting the market. And future FA lists don't look promising.
