Mike, long time lurker, first time poster. Here's my question:
Why did you ask for questions on twitter 2 hours ago but only here just now?
Thanks in advance. - lumlums
Twitter users troll less and he can block them so they are obviously a more valuable readership and fanbase plus the cast of HockeyBuzz ask tough questions
i will reiterate my point... i am not saying stamkos wont sign here... but if he does... it will because he wants to be a leaf and nothing more.... the arguments about how he will make sooooo much more here are flat out exaggerated and simply untrue. - Dozzer
I missed what ignited this debate but I'd say yes and no to you. Exaggerated for sure. Although if you are talking every offer being the same $$ amount from every team then I think Toronto absolutely provides more opportunity for additional income streams above most NHL teams.
If you talk to any ex-Leaf still in the area, the big names STILL don't pay for a damn thing in this city.

oh i understand that... there is no question the level of celebrity and fame in toronto is unmatched... i just dont like the argument that he would make so much more money here.
my personal opinion is simply that if stamkos were to sign in toronto it would be because he wants to play here and nothing more.

Agreed. But it has to be coupled with a competitive offer. There will be no "hometown discount" we all love to dream about.
