Most guys like being in the mix so travel is minimal, and yes there are some decent area's around Detroit. None that I have seen, but I know they exist...I won't go back there, ever.

there are lots of small communities nearby that are really nice

Southwestern Ontario has a population of roughly 3.5 million, with almost no corporate headquarters.

The Golden Horseshoe has a population of approximately 9 million.

Add to that fact the Maple Leaf has much more cachet than the winged wheel for endorsements, and I politely giggle at your notion that I"m just being wishful.

I'm done with Polak myself, he's nothing special.

But I agree we need some size and grit, someone who can clear players infront of the net...someone who is nasty. Polak fits that mould, but I'm hoping we can get someone better.

There is A LOT more reason for a quality UFA from TO to sign with the Leafs than ever before. I like the positivity, it's been a fun ride, I think it's going to continue! Stammer or not, Leafs will make some good off season moves. Bringing in Stammer is just icing on the cake.

Actually no one ever thought Brad was going to sign here...specially the media.

Wouldn't be surprised if we sign Darren Helm & Kyle Quincey as Free agents. 2 guys that Babs are familiar with and Helm would definitely help this team out on the PK (would essentially take over for Grabner).

And Quincey would be a 3rd pairing guy or 7th dman. As of now, our technical locks at D are Rielly, Gardiner, Hunwick. Add the russian kid coming over, that's 4. One of the Marlie kids will most likely make it too. KQ wouldn't be bad, and imo, I don't want a young Marlie dman being up here, but being the 7th dman.
