Or PLD... try to get ahead of MTL..

Id be okay with either Joulevi or Chych.. but one will be gone by the 7-10th pick..

- Arctic_AARDVARK

I saw some analysis (forget where) that showed Mikhail Sergachev as being slightly better than Chychrun, just without the fanfare... could be a decent pickup around the 10-15 mark.

Lets cheer for the Rangers, to beat the Penguins and take our chances. I'm sure someone good will fall between the cracks, like they do every year. Maybe this player could be that player.

I'm hoping somehow he falls to the Sharks pick, if they get knocked out in the first round

Would love that.

Don't think he will slide that far. Some consider him the top D-man available.

More hacks and grit is NOT what this team needs
- twiztedmike

Someone on D who hits would be nice. Babs had Kronwall.

With the Pitts pick I'd be intrigued to see if Jake Bean is available... needs to bulk up a bit but is almost ppg in the WHL...

JVR for your first and we'll take Emelin for the cap differential.

Same. But I just think consensus top-end D (Chych, Juolevi and Serg) will all be gone by around 12 because they are in high demand and very valuable.

I think Charlie McAvoy would be the guy to target in the 14-20 range.

I was gunna add him to my previous comment with McAvoy but I think both will be available in the 14-30 range and I think McAvoy is regarded higher right now.

Prob depends where the Pitts pick lands.

If that is the case, then there should be another decent forward dropping down further into the middle of the pack. Take the best player available.

The problem is that if you're ranking high on hits it means that you don't have the puck. Take Duncan Keith (and ignore the stick swing ); over the last four years combined he's had less than 90 hits, and yet is one of the best in the game.... a guy who plays well with the puck and can get the puck off you with the stick is far more valuable than a big lump who can hit but nothing else...

I think so too... that and there's a few teams who need D badly enough to make it happen...

depending where the leafs pick, but bastian would be someone who would add size to this roster. he isn't very physical, but for a 6'4 forward, he gets around the ice pretty decently. he's got a good shot and good playmaking abilities. watched him playing for the steelheads a bit.
