You are a better man for that. Hey at least the Mets finally won a game. Did anyone see Cespedes go flying into the stands 3 rows deep? I thought for sure he was seriously injured.

that was brutal and I saw the replay of the Hornqvist goal, Hank saves that if he can see. Unbelievable he kept him in.

I still don't understand what G was doing on that play. He wasn't skating, and put his hand up in the air like he thought it was offsides or he didn't know where the puck was.

I don't usually give baseball much interest till after hockey/Labor Day if Rangers are out but I was bored yesterday & awaiting the Ranger game, it was a day game yesterday.

loyalty is one thing, we are fans, which is short for fanatics, I'll stand behind and defend Dan Girardi until I am blue in the face

He was coming off a possible concussion, on the road vs the best team in the NHL since January 1st.

I trust this coach to make good decisions and am disappointed when he doesn't make them.

He should be 2nd, 3rd and 4th guessed for playing Girardi in that spot last night.

Staal too. Staal watching the puck instead of his man. Just god awful to watch last night. Everything that could have gone wrong did.

I would hope McIlrath can get at least 1 game here, for future experience, not likely though unless G or Boyle is hurt.

I've defended him too, but he really looks lost, I know concussion symptoms play a part, but even when healthy he just is not the same anymore. Lot of years still left on that contract.

I thought Stalberg showed up, very involved, threw the body nice. We all know the 2 penalties were complete BS. That 2nd one was a text book body check, no head contact, so aggravating.
- B2B76

We came out flying and those penalties definitely took the wind out of our sails

When I first saw his reaction I thought he took a puck to the throat. He was flipping around all over the place the first 10 seconds. I have a bad feeling about this too.
- B2B76

I think Hank will be OK. We've all had a poke in the eye that makes thing blurry for a while. He had no business going back in net, giving up a goal and giving the Pens energy going into the room. We all called that last night. That is when AV has to play coach and tell him to go to the locker room to have it looked at. Screw Hank's pride, do what is right for the team.

You know what elses is aggravating, giving up within the final minutes or second of period. A theme that start early in the year and continued into game 1.

I always preach don't rush the off season when we are still playing. It's becoming painfully obvious what the solution is this summer for Girardi every game

Yeah, well at least Skjei looked really good for his 1st playoff game.

How many times have you seen Point Break?
Compare to the remake?

I would much rather have it the old way when the refs let everything go, this is the Stanley Cup Playoffs, can't be calling such ticky tack stuff. Both ways, the penalty on Pitt for spraying Hank that was called unsp conduct was silly but make up for earlier calls. The call on Hags was obviously justified but at the same time to then call Cole on the cross check was too much I thought, I'll take it of course but again, they used to let guys kill each other in the playoffs, now its swung so much in the other direction.

Both calls were BS. Beyond that, the Rangers killed them effortlessly. Most teams get a boost from that.

Yea. Yesterday just feels like such a blown opportunity.

But the series changes if we can get a win in game 2. Split on the road and then come home where we've been dominant all year long.

Never saw the remake and I never will. Swayze is the only Bodhi. I probably seen both movies easily over a 100 times.

The Rangers kept the Penguins discombobulated on those PPs but they still took away from the sustained offensive zone time and pressure the Rangers had at the beginning. Pitt was a bit on their heels until they had the man advantage.

Not blaming the loss on those penalties by any means. It still sucked though.

All 3 in the 1st were ridiculous. Thought the 5on3 was awful too. Hags should have got the double minor and that was it. Peel should be strapped to a dumptruck and driven into a fireworks factory.

I don't like to complain about calls but all three I remember in the first period were horse crap. 2 on Stahlbeg and one on the pens for "snowing" Lundqvist, and I use the term loosely because he missed his face with almost all of it, if he got him at all Id bet even Lundqvist would say it was nothing.
Its the playoffs, you have to let them get at it a bit, none of those "Penalties" had any play impact at all.
