I feel like you're fking with me here, but i'll bite anyways.
i'd be stoked if we signed them both and dropped Higgins/Burrows.
Gives us a whole new dimension and allows younger players to shift down to more comfortable/appropriate spots in depth chart.
No way. The saddledome is so (frank)ing quiet it's scary. Only time it's loud is when they score a goal. Same with Air Canada Centre except they also go bananas when they play stompin tom.
During the days of the west coast express GM place was loud. Really loud. And because of the configuration players always said the crowd feels right on top of you. During the cup run it was crazy. Bedlam inside that building.
Rogers Arena does have a problem now but I truly believe it's a product of the pricing scale imposed on this fan base. - bloatedmosquito
The pricing scale is a good point, last time I went to a playoff game was Winnipeg two years ago, before that in 2010/11 during our big run. I assure you, GM place was not even in the same conversation. I guess the peg is a rare breed, seems to me that the forum and ACC come playoff time are way more rockus to me.
Maybe just felt that way because I feel like when I go to regular season games nowadays nobody cheers, and it bugs me every time.

And now, for some news from Toronto....
The Maple Leafs showed their faith in two key young players Wednesday, inking forward Nazem Kadri and defenceman Morgan Rielly to six-year deals.
Kadri's deal totals US$27 million over six years for an average annual value of $4.5 million, while Rielly's pact is worth $30 million for an annual cap hit of $5 million.

I forgot you're 16 hours ahead. That only makes it 28 hours late

Nobody's cheering because they have paid for chicken salad and have been served chicken poop.
I thought about this the other day... when I dropped out two seasons ago most people in my section were the same people that were there during the 2011 cup run. I wonder if they are still hung over from that lose. I don't know, but there seems to be a lot of skepticism around this club these days. Maybe it's a case of "here we go again..."

Part product and part greed caused the problem IMO. It started going downhill for me around the cup run, when the bandwagon was loading up and things started changing to be very family friendly and catering to the new audience. That is definitely nice direction but I feel almost embarrassed to stand up and yell in the rink when I go to games because I don't want to be in trouble or shunned by some of the quiet folk.
I was in LA for a playoff game in 2010 and it was awesome. People were hostile but in a friendly way, it made for a really fun night. Plus the in arena production slaughters Rogers Arena
Im pumped we landed him although it was all but certain. Basically like getting a free second round pick. It would have been nice to land Nelson or Ziatsev too but that ship has sailed. No reason this guy cant be the next Tanev or Hutton to come out of no where and be a legit NHL Dman.

Im really hoping now we can grab caggiula too. - mauryballstein
I knew that but New Zealand doesn't have anyone famous like Olivia Newton John , the Bee Gees or the Croc Hunter so I had to use your neighbours . Sorry
favorite twitter tidbit:"Separated shoulder in GM 1 of '13 #BCHL Final vs @SurreyEagles . Didn't miss a game. Kid's nails." fraser rodgers, Vees radio guy - neem55
To me he almost plays like a poor mans doughty. Can skate with the puck has some offense and plays fairly physical for a smaller player and plays every shift.

Exactly. I wouldn't be too excited to watch a poor product while paying top dollar to do it. Now that the team sucks it really emphasises the price discrepancy. I think price adjustment is inevitable. Fans don't want to be gouged for their loyalty.
It’s like when I used to pay to go see live music. At times the production value sucked but who cared. We didn’t pay much to go see the show in the first place. But now shows cost hundreds of dollars. No way fans would pay that to see the quality of shows I witnessed.

If being in the rink was still fun, despite a poor on-ice product, I would be happy to go. The management is embarking on re-whatever and is risking losing fans through a weaker team, they should do the same with the in-house material too. Be edgy and fun, make it a place or event that people want to go to. I couldn't care less about MLS or soccer but for me the price of admission is worth it just for being in the crowd for a Whitecaps game. Canucks need to look into something in that department to keep interest in the next couple years
