We can only hope. I was ok on Bart at years start but as the season raged on it was clear he is not capable defensively and he stopped using his excellent skating as an asset. Weber is just a disaster pretty much everywhere but the PP.

I'm really hoping Hamhuis goes and we can roll with Edler Tanev Sbisa Tryamkin Pedan and an open spot for someone to compete for. I think Biega's time is done here too.

No Hutton?! Is he traded?!

I this the D is going to be interesting next year. Aside from Pedan (who will have his rookie struggles), they have 5 NHL level defenseman but still arent very good. Like they have a whole bunch of 2nd and 3rd pairing D and no one of first line quality

you guys want to get in on the flyers bandwagon? I only ask once. Don't expect me crawling back here for you guys to jump on when we down the caps in 6 games, go on to beat the penguins in 7 and then beat tampa in the conference finals to go on to the stanley cup finals.

Lets keep in mind he also played the most games. His goals, points and hits per game and per 60 drop him closer to where he should be

Yes I know, I left out important information on purpose. Jake actually was second with half the number of games.

One reason I love the Virtanen pick; I remember Nucker saying they should have taken Ehlers but I like that Jake still brings offence but he also brings that physical element. He drives possession and does things most 19 year olds can't do.

Shhhh, facts and stories, you know how this game works.
We take a statistic that on its own paints a totally different picture then reality, post it, play dumb about any other 'so called facts' and base our reality on a contradiction of someone else's opinion.

Like Bo's plus minus or Tanev's point total.

Regarding Bartkowski, when he was played in the 3rd pairing role, I could live with some of his mistakes. When he was getting those second pairing minutes, he was in over his head.

I remember WD talking about players trying to make stuff happen and that was encouraged and they could live with the mistakes. Bart, getting 2nd pairing minutes, tried to make stuff happen and that led to many mistakes,

I don't want him back because I think he will get in the way of Pedan's development but still wouldn't be surprised to see him back.

Fast and easy.....two things Bartkowski has no idea about. Ferraro was on talking about him one day saying look at Duncan Keith, 90% of the time he distributes the puck to the forwards one stride from the goal line (fast) and he takes the best lane when distributing that puck (easy). Which immediately kills the oppositions forecheck.

Bartkowski skates it north south great but his head is always down and he skates it into trouble 99% of the time then he has no idea what to do with it when pressured.

Where is Nucker now that the season is over, I miss our debates, he was always up for a good conversation.

My only fear with a pick like Jake is they get too focused on the physical aspect and dont work on being scorers. Guys like Ehlers know they need to score to be successful so they work on those skills constantly and then tolerate the physical play. As long as Jake and the team keeps putting him in an offensive role so he can develop into a 45-55 point guy, I will be happy with the pick

Why weren't you in JB's office at the TDL? Bart might've got a decent return with that tactic...

I wanted Ehlers as well but I was still torn between the 2 as Virtanen was the local boy getting to live his dream. In the end I am more than happy with the Virtanen pick.
