Oh you think Paajarvi is better than anyone
- sycsam
They aren't great, but they are all a hell of a lot better at playing hockey than Ott, Reaves +Mashinter. This is what you get with two old school coaches that have an extremely competitive (but respectful) relationship. "You aren't going to out goon me Ken. Im dressing Mashinter. " -Coach Q |

Was my post about Crawford? I have concerns about his Blues inflicted concussion too. What I do know is Crow has proven he stands up and plays better under playoff pressure. Has Elliott? Has Allen? When? - tredbrta
It was in reference to Elliott getting pulled in the last game of the season. It doesn't matter.
Elliott played just fine against the Hawks last week. I think that has more relevance than the final game against Washington. |

Paajarvi would be a waste on the Fourth line
I wish the blues had Sobotka
Upshall Brodziak Sobotka would be awesome |

They are different players and Magnus is basically useless on the 4th line. That line is about forecheck, cycling the puck, etc. Magnus needs linemates that have offensive ability to be effective.
Q can do whatever he wants. Hitch is dressing the roster that he feels works for their game play. If Q wants to play Mash to counter our roster, great. I am good with that. |

Be careful Tred, you could be looking at #5 here soon.
You know, Q did say he was looking great skating 25 min a night in Rockford.
Gee, I didn't know figure skating trials were going on . . . - savvyone-1
Someone is slipping Q some sort of acid or something. Sadly, Svedberg is obviously a better defensive option but, if Gus keeps folding under pressure, Rundblad may see time at 6d for his passing. Gus looked a bit better the last few weeks though. When Keith is back I doubt the last d man - whoever it is - sees more than 15 mins. Unless someone steps up - and I really hope it is Gus - the options at 6d look a lot like Kimmo last year.

I would be too if the shoe was on the other foot. Still, lots of pressure on the home team tonight to keep home ice advantage with the Hawks #1 D and reigning Conn Smythe winner out of the lineup... |

Hope or think, it doesn't matter. Basically the same thing. Nice correction though.
Just like you hope or think that the Blues will flame out again. You don't know anything until it happens. |

Yes, there is a lot of pressure to win tonight with Keith out of the lineup. It doesn't look good to lose game 1. But it is one game and it isn't like they are unable to win with Keith in the lineup.
So ready for the game to start. Only another 9 hours. |

Well guys, good luck to both teams tonight. This is a game that won't be decided by bloggers or anyone but the players, coaches, refs (i hope not) and should be a good series. Will the Blues rise up? Will the Hawks show the dynasty is unquestionable?
Can't wait to find out. |

Not sure. Her account went inactive and there were reports that she was negotiating with the NHL to work for them. Then there were reports that she chose not to accept the NHL's offer and things have gone rather silent other than some media types reporting that the NHL has not forbidden gifs, didn't change their policy, etc. Of course, most didn't directly say that they didn't start charging royalty type fees. Often the devil is in the detailed words chose or purposefully omitted. |

Plenty of teams advance after physical 1st rounds and "depleted" rosters. Just not the Blues. Before your team gets out of the west you're probably not in a position to lecture on what it takes to get out of the west.
You need to go back and look at the last 1st round exit by the Blues. What did they do every game last year the Wild had a 2 or 3 goal lead? Ott, Backes, Reaves... even Shattenkirk were out there trying to run players out of the series. Drew a number of dumb penalties for it too. Brouwer may help with keeping that team's heads on straight this year. We will see.
Mash isn't going be able to regulate anything though. I'll agree there. Not the way he played in the regular season. This is not Buff or a healthy Bickell that can play with key players.... the type the after the whistle Blow boys have to watch for when they try to engage with Toews or the stars. If we see a bunch of fights in this series the Hawks will be playing the Blues game and the Blues will win. - tredbrta
tred...the brouwer impact is also over rated...he is a nice big body 2nd-3rd line guy that can check and score...but he was with the caps for 4 years and his "pedigree" and "leadership" didn't get them anywhere but early exits and 7 games losses...I like troy alot...wish he been able to stay here

You mean the one time Elliot was a starting goalie in the playoffs 2012
He helped win a series and the entire team got steam rolled by the Kings - sycsam
And how was he in relief during those other exits? Did he turn things around for the team? Why wasn't he starting the playoffs all of those other years if he is such a world beater?

Is that not the exact same argument for Mash being on the ice w Vlad or Fabbri. - Gerk
yes...mash should not be on the ice with 91...probably happen with whistles and icings...but that is not a matchup Q wants...

He has to be better than Oshie (30 games 5g, 4a, -12) I would think. Brouwer has 78 games, 7g, 12a, -5. Maybe not that much better, lol.
