Hitch has been different all year long with his responses to media questions. It's like he hiding something. He is responding differently this year than he has in years past. More cut throat, more snide snarky comments.
Blues need to play physical but 70 + hits is crazy, that just means you have no puck possession and are chasing the other team all night long.
Good game by both teams. Blues barely showed up. Still out of sink. Should be a hard series. Yet another o/t game between these two teams. I am going to have no fingers left if this continues.(gnawing at them all night long) - BluesDroogie
i could give a poop what the guy with the folded arms behind the bench says....the hawks showed me tonight they got enough resolve to get this series and get him fired...

yikes! I lived in MA for the first half of the playoffs last year and I definitely don't miss the past midnight OTs. The downside being on the west coast is that games will start before 5 |

Some respect from one of the greats for an (often outside of Chicago) unsung guy on our team:
Continually amazed at how he takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' - thought he might be down for the count a couple of times tonight.

Mash's TOI 7:27 last night...ridiculous Q. 3 hits.
Get Weise in there.
PP gave this one away...especially with nothing to show for the 5 on 3.
Thought Hammer was a warrior last night.
D looked ok without Keith big lift with him back tomorrow night. |

It's the one thing I don't like about hockey and something no one can do anything about, fluke goals especially important goals. Not saying cause it happen to the Hawks last night but hate when goals go off a defender or someone's ass or skate.

Add a dumb offensize zone trip to the tally.
Panik or Weise, come on down!
I liked Desjardins and Kruger last night. Did anybody else here find that Shaw was struggling?

Shades of Game 7 in LA in 2014.
But here, it was only Game 1. Let's go 'Hawks! |

Yeah - Shaw is Def not 100%. He didn't play terrible, just not like himself. |

Don't complain, just be happy playoff games in hockey aren't decided with a shootout or by a flip of a coin.
Hawks had many chances earlier in the game and in OT but didn't capitalize.

Thinking the same thing. Got most of the way through the game and thought to myself where's Shaw? He's usually so noticeable in a good way. Hope it's just rust for him. And I suppose not noticeable in a bad way is a good thing. That line was fine last night. |

with one exception...when it happens to the other team...
games like this often get decided on the boink-doink and in variety...that's hockey
out every thinged the blues last night except hits (of course) and goals....
did the hawks hold anyteam under 18 sogs all year..that was a great effort with almost 20 blocked shots....
damn hammy was good...he needs more protective equipment...i
still think guys are hurting: shaw, hossa and anisimov...craw looked good
i think you need fresh troops for friday: panik and weiss should both play

even in a 1-0 OT playoff game remains a neg trend: no pp or PAK goals its tough for this team to win...yet 5 on 5 was much better
hammy was outstanding...the whole dcorp raised their play...
i like keith as a rover on the pp and 72 and 88 playing catch below the red line to get those pk defenders backs turned |

Had to end that way - excellent defense and goaltending by both teams - excellent PK by the Indianhead and blue note.
From my viewpoint - the Hawks needed to capitalize on the OT PP - game over after that, I thought - no surprise to me at the ending.
If your guys could shoot straight, it might have been over sooner - only 18 of 60 Blues shots were on net - 20 blocked, 22 missed. Good protection by the Hawks - scoring chances were Chicago by 37-21 (War On Ice). |

Last part of your post is very true. Actually, all of it is. You can also point to the 2 or 3 power plays in the first. That said, without DK, the effort was good. The blues defense played well also. And in the playoffs, you need those greasy goals to win. The Hawks can win this series. |

Maybe it was because he was getting cut off at every pass and clobbered late. I hope he's in good shape going forward. |
