Speaking of superstition, heard this song on the radio today... always pumps me up because the radio DJ's usually follow it up with "We are the Champions"... and if you look at the jacket bass guitarist John Deacon is wearing, well that just screams good vibes!

Wow!-- now that IS a great catch with the vintage Blackhawks scroll!

If there are any other Queen fans out there, the video for the song "Spread Your Wings" was also shot in the same location, at the same day, with John wearing the same jacket, FYI.
Could it be a sign that Chicago/Detroit will make the SC Final?
And then let in a soft one shortly thereafter. Don't think the Rags can win without him standing on his head. - Hank_Greenberg
Yeah don't think that was a coincidence, on another note I'm a bit nervous about tonight's game hope they were saving a little something for the playoffs

Dude. Enough. I enjoy your input and posts, but this meme, used so much is extremely tiresome. Articulate verbally your disagreement. Any poster who sees this response, would obviously be offended to the point of being insulted.
And most importantly, would discourage him from articulating his thoughts in the future. And isn't what this cite is for? I learn much from reading divergent points of view.

Hey Tex, speaking of divergent p.o.v.'s, wondering if you've got the Chicago Comcast SportsNet feed? I've been watching the last 30 min of their pregame show with the usual (Pat Boyle, Steve Konroyd and Jamal Mayers) and they also had an interview with the Stan-man.
Maybe I'm just reading or listening too much into all of this but I've found it pretty hilarious how Stan in his interview after being asked about the new guys fitting in and the lineup proceeded to backpedal on it -- and the same for the 3 guys in the studio, essentially making excuses for #53 being in the lineup, going on to say they're going to need ALL the guys at some point and Mash is in there to lay the lumber. Not a single one willing to step out and say anything contrary to the company line.
And yet all, reading between the lines of what was said and how, all seemed to be wondering the same thing most of us here have been since the line rushes in practice were announced a few days ago, along with the lineup for tonight.

We are all creatures of habit and this is Q's MO, he falls in love with his guys like Mash, Bollig and so on, hopefully it doesn't cost the Hawks a game, what I worry about is line 3 needs to score about 12 goals and with Mash I see that line being lucky to score a goal in this series

Interesting Savvy. No, I don't have that feed. But not for lack so asking Moma. Hawks,Cubs and Bears on the satellite bill and I'm most definitely pushing it. But I'd love to hear the local perspective..
Since I retired, listen to a lot of internet radio out of Chicago. And it is sooo lacking on any cerebral analysis of the Hawks. Disappointing. Can you recommend something?
Quite frankly, the best Hawk analysis I get is right here. Mr. j does a damn fine job and quite a lot of varying points of view to consider.
This coming from a kid listening to Lloyd Petit on his transistor radio under his pillow as a youngun.
Hoping for the best tonight Savvy. However, all things considered, not expecting much. Ya never know though.

Me too. I'm also hoping Hjalmarsson and TVR are good enough together that Q puts Keith with Seabs when he comes back. And that TT is able to make it work with 53 on his wing

I loved listening to Lloyd Petit on Wednesday and Sunday nights for the Hawks home games-- he was incredible in painting the picture and calling a great game--

Tex, I'm assuming you listen to the WGN radio internet feed -- that's probably about as good as you'll get with Troy and John, Troy in particular is pretty vocal about stuff. Haven't listened tonight to hear if he's commenting about Mash or not.
As to Lloyd, yes, me too -- those goal calls are never to be forgotten! I too am hoping for the best, probably expecting a poor performance and will be surprised and thrilled if they prove my "negative Nellie" attitude wrong!
So who is the marketing genius at NBC that thinks i want to stay up til midnight for a playoff game in my own time-zone??? Pathetic. Also, i didn't know 8:3o = 8:45 plus

Was the same last year too. Stinks. Especially when it goes to 3OT. Was at the 3OT game v Preds last year and that one didn't end until 1:16 AM My sister and I took naps during the OT intermissions. Didn't get home until after 2:00.
ETA: Lazerus complains about these late starts all the time. I agree it really screws over the central time zone teams.
