I thought of a new word last night: laccuracy.

Laccuracy, a continual lack of accuracy attributed to a repeated action.

To use the word in a sentence: The Blues outshot their opponent, but their laccuracy to get shots actually ON-NET led to a much easier night for the opposing goal tender than one would hope.

Good golly, that was certainly a nice win, but if they play this way throughout, they will not win three games in this series.

Their shooting accuracy was awful. I'll bet they fired seventeen shots on their first three power plays and had two shots ON-GOAL.

I liked the physicality. That can pay off later in the series, but the Blues have to win to make it a long series, otherwise its moot.

Rookies played well overall. Parayko couldn't hit the broad side of a zip code, but otherwise he, and the others was solid.

Memo to Taresenko: SHOOT!!!!

From Chicago's standpoint, there's nothing for them to be alarmed about. They played a solid road game.

I don't know how healthy Backes is, he didn't do much, until the end. I also don't think Shaw is healthy for them. He was invisible and that never happens. He's usually a complete butt-hole.

Blues will have to be much, much better.

I think he was playing to the fact that everyone knows he shoots. Some of those passes caught Crawford completely off guard. Friday night Tarasenko will get some better looks at the net with the goalie unable to over commit to the shot.

Yeah, I was there. I also would assume that it was nerves.

I really don't want him playing the puck. At all.

There was about three times he literally jumped for the high shot and the play where he turned it over and tripped getting back to his net I almost pooped my pants

I mean he should play the puck around the other way away from the forecheck but he shot it right to Toews I think

no joke

that was nuts

He also may have taken a knee to the head after the goal that was scored shortly thereafter. rough night for him in only 1 period played. If he can't go, the Rangers are done even quicker than I originally thought.

I'd be telling him, "You ain't paid to think, big boy. You're paid to shoot."

Shots:

Toews 7
Hossa 5
Panini 5
Kane 4

Blues had no one with more than 2.

Also saw another post, the Blues fired 60 shots, 22 were blocked and 18 were shots on goal leaving 20 shots that missed everything.

Blecccchhhhh.

We played 2 bad/ mediocre periods. We had 3 rookies play first playoff game. We still got the win. Team will only get better.

Backes, Fabbri, Berglund, to much fancy stuff. Get the puck deep.

Paryanko needs to just fire it and not try to hit the corners. Make the hawks earn their blocked shots.

This series is going to be won in the paint. We need to score 2nd chance goals, Hawks yet to show they are willing to put in the work. Partially why Elliott played so well, all first looks.

Fun game to watch and both goalies deserved the win

Hawks actually played better than I thought they would but came up just short. I couldn't tell ya the last time I saw Toews have so many chances and come up empty.

The Hawks need more zone time 5 v 5 and please get some bodies to the front of the net.

The PP also needs to get back on track.

Good game by the Blues and it looks like we are all in for a heck of a series

From the start of the game it just kinda felt like the Blues were playing to not lose, very little possession in the offensive zone and the chances they had they either missed or were blocked.

Parayko just needs to shoot period, get it somewhat near the net so it could be deflected, he's been very timid the entire year shooting.

Not sure if anyone noticed but Lehtera high sticked Schwartz at the red line at the side wall shortly before the GWG. He went right off and looked to be cut at a minimum. Presume he is fine but he did take a stick in the face.

They played like the pressure was on them and it was

Going forward I would hope they loosen up

I believe Keith not playing tensed them up and they tried to hard

I think they can now just play

If you prove to be right it could be a short series so good luck in the 2nd round. Hawks are allergic to the paint except Shaw, and he's not himself. Q has a couple of guys in the press box who will but they don't matter when they are upstairs. Tough to figure, but you guys should understand having had him as a fearless leader years ago.

Most of us have had way too many Adult Sodas in order to remember much from the Q era

A win is a win! Shots on goal.... Yikes!
It was like they hold their sticks so tight they had no control of shots.
I liked the comment of Paryako taking shooting lessons from Petro!
Still a long way to go ....we watched this show the last couple of years we go up two....ZING THEN OUT IN 4 STRAIGHT...

I am hoping... But turning BLUE holding my breath!

I hope that getting through Game 1 and winning that game will loosen them up a bit

Still a long way to go before they can be satisfied

repeated inaccuracy? lol.

Yeah Shaw and Hossa both a hitch in their getty-up. Hossa is more from being old for the NHL and Shaw,he is playing through something.

I saw the same things.

I also saw a miracle. Hjaml.... got smoked in the knee was barley able to skate and the next shift there was no sign of that pain.

he played great but he must have been playing high. if he was playing through pain there would a noticable hitch, a little something off, a grimace. what do you think they are using? norco? tramadal? i wonder what nhl trainers are using these days. hats off to the kid for doing it.

i agree with this. puck being a bit bouncy plus i think even schwartz was caught off guard a bit and at least one pure choke by him and those passes were perfect.
