Suddenly the refs want to call the stuff they are required to by the book. At least, if it's against the Blues.

Thought the game winner might be a cheap lucky bounce type goal.

Then thats like just ignoring the Chelios rule(aka the delay of game when the puck clears the glass from the defensive zone, w/o touching anything)

Certain things must be called, why not let players play the puck from the bench then to help out their team.

- BluesDroogie

I like it, the hungry hungry hippo zone right in front of the bench. Only heroes dare skate through it.

It's funny, every year I read the St. Louis blogs during their postseason play and every year I see you whining about the same poop. Boo hoo, ref didn't call this, refs didn't call that, Blues got screwed. Blah blah whine whine. You are the quintisential homer.

Might want to consider the perception of your own teams fans before reaching such a hasty conclusion in regards to others on one measly blog site.

sounds like you flunked your informal logic course. you think this means your mom will kick you out of the basement?

If it's the same thing every year, then there is no need for you to read it and certainly no need for you to comment, unless you are just looking to troll.

You most definitely need a little bit of luck in the playoffs. That was a hell of a game but I'd like to see them rely a little less on luck and a little more on goals from Schwartz and Tarasenko.

Strong D being played at both ends though, a far cry from what you see in the East. It seemed like every time the Hawks needed a big defensive play, Hjalmarson was on the ice. You have to agree with Q about him being the best defensive Dman in the league.

I thought Gunnarson really rose to the occasion and played a very sound game aside from an errant pass late. The team as a whole did a very good job of limiting the cross ice passes and containing Panarin. In every Hawk game I've seen this year, that kid ripped at least one or two clean one timers from the left faceoff dot, until last night.

That's right my good man, no such thing as luck.

Get the puck deep, funnel pucks to the net, look for garbage, look for bounces, look for deflections, yada, yada, yada. That's just hard work.

Not to mention shutting out your opponent for 3-1/2 periods to put you in a positions to win.

What's the cliché? There are no bad shots in OT.

So when others are talking about how the Blues got outshot, you might kindly suggest they are paying too much attention to the wrong part of the scoreboard.

In reality, there are things to be concerned about and things to be excited about but that will have to wait until later today to share.

On a side note, scary play in the Rangers game on Henrik Lundqvist (stick through the cage).

I thought of a new word last night: laccuracy.

Laccuracy, a continual lack of accuracy attributed to a repeated action.

To use the word in a sentence: The Blues outshot their opponent, but their laccuracy to get shots actually ON-NET led to a much easier night for the opposing goal tender than one would hope.

Good golly, that was certainly a nice win, but if they play this way throughout, they will not win three games in this series.

Their shooting accuracy was awful. I'll bet they fired seventeen shots on their first three power plays and had two shots ON-GOAL.

I liked the physicality. That can pay off later in the series, but the Blues have to win to make it a long series, otherwise its moot.

Rookies played well overall. Parayko couldn't hit the broad side of a zip code, but otherwise he, and the others was solid.

Memo to Taresenko: SHOOT!!!!

From Chicago's standpoint, there's nothing for them to be alarmed about. They played a solid road game.

I don't know how healthy Backes is, he didn't do much, until the end. I also don't think Shaw is healthy for them. He was invisible and that never happens. He's usually a complete butt-hole.

Blues will have to be much, much better.

I thought they tried to be too cute a lot of the time

Shooting for deflections and passing way too much

Fabbri needs to be told you can dangle at the blue line but you need to make sure that you get that puck in the zone and deep while your d is changing that almost burnt the blues big time

All in all it was not a great game but they won so we can move on to Friday

I took last night at a good sign.

They didn't play well. And still won.

They will play much better games in the series than last night. Elliott was very good. That needs to continue as the series goes on.

Carcus I assume you were there last ngiht

Why do you think Els was fighting seeing the puck in the first period?

It was very evident on the Hawks telecast he was struggling to pick up the puck

He settled in nicely

Might have just been nerves

Yeah, I was there. I also would assume that it was nerves.

I really don't want him playing the puck. At all.
