Gallagher doesn't have a huge history of injuries, his biggest was broken fingers from blocking shots, could have happened to anymore ( who is brave enough to block shots so not our captain). But regardless they need another top 6 minimum.
- Fredo

I didnt mean to say he has a history; rather, that his style is going to be detrimental to him as the odds of being injured are just simply higher. I just wouldn't count on him getting more than 20-25 goals in a season is all.

i think as a player matures and goes through season after season of pounding, they learn to pick their spots. i don't think Gallagher will be such a maniac when he's 27-28.
- DoubleDown

If he's not, like many many players he'll be alot less effective and productive early in his carreer.

What reassures me is that he's an off-ice training freak.

maybe. or maybe when playoff time rolls around he'll have more in the tank and step his performance up. think Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Markov.

except, you know, the exact opposite.

gotta hand it to them though... not easy to spoil a fanbase's goodwill as quickly and efficiently as they have.

Kadri's AAV is $4.5M and Rielly's is $5M. Both 6 year deals.

Oh (frank) them.

Who would have thought 3 years ago that the Leafs would be better managed than the Habs down the road?

Kadri 4.5 AAV, DD 3.5 AAV - for basically the same player (i.e. 50 point/season non-1st line C)

Reilly was a good signing. Can you imagine if they didn't give PK a bridge deal and got him for 5-6/year?

the Kadri deal is pretty solid considering those are mostly UFA years.

Kadri and DD the same player? yikes. just so much yikes.

as for PK... had he signed for 6 years back in 2013 he'd be 2 years away from UFA. and based on this management group, we'd probably lose him for nothing. or you'd end up signing him for probably more than $9 million in 2 years and end up paying him premium dollars through his declining years.
