Nice to see Burrows getting the recognition he deserves.

I can understand the thinking of jettisoning the vets for younger players to speed up the rebuild but I would keep Burrows in a mentoring role for the younger players coming up. Guys a warrior. Hansen’s the same deal.

Bob Mackenzie is credible IMO. The two hosts are goofs that love to get chicken little on every subject.

We need to stop the panic regarding college kids and pulling a "vessey". We have soo much time with both Boeser and Demko and there has been ZERO indication that either player has any other intention but to sign with the Canucks. My god people. Surely we can find something else to panic about instead of what MAY happen in a few years time.

Calgary sucks from top to bottom except for one.

They are Oilers light + Mark Giordano.

His story of how he got where he is is great, I think it would be good for the younger guys to try and adopt his worth ethic. One more year teaching the young guys couldn't hurt.

The panic is at extreme levels, especially with Boeser and he has the longest time in the team's possession

Demko could pull the Vesey next summer if he doesn't sign this summer, so it is very relevant. Boeser, I agree.

It's a little more difficult then just forgetting about it. Demko has nothing left to prove at the ncaa level. If he doesn't turn pro next year it would be impossible not to worry

Guys on the radio said demko refused to meet with JB because he was to broken up about the ncaa lose. Then said maybe the real reason is he's to scared to face them and tell them he may not want to sign
- Bigalow

Hah you just don't give up....why the hell you are able to continue posting here after your childlike behaviour is beyond me.

3 million cap hit for a player that can use up limited minutes or play big ones. It wouldn't hurt.

I guess talking about it and debating about in these forums for the next 365 days will impact the outcome of it all

I agree. So what Burrows is taking up $4M+ on the 4th line. Lots of rookie contracts balancing that out.

There is absolutely no sense in debating, for the next year, the "what if's" regarding Demko. The kid has said he will approach Benning in the next week or 10 days with a decision.

Not at all buts it's defiantly going to be one of the biggest topics of conversation considering what he might turn into

I agree, I'm just saying it's not as far off as you're making it out to be: if he doesn't sign this summer, he could become a UFA next summer. Just saying.

If we turn out needing the roster spot or cap room, I'm hoping for mashed.

If he makes a statement after 10 days, saying he has spoken to his family and that the best choice for him is to go back to college for 1 more year and explore ALL his options next summer. Yes, I would worry. All he has said is that he wants some time to weigh his options for the upcoming year regarding turning PRO or going back, not saying anything about finding a different team.

If the canucks keep getting younger as they promised then cap space shouldn't be an issue. If the nucks follow FLA's model then we'll need a few big contracts just to get to the cap floor. I say that with a bit of humour of course but you know what I mean.

Fair enough, I'm resigned to keep Burrows if we don't need the spot or cash. He is definitely a classy guy who I have loved on the team. I also personally would like another top-5 next year. That being said, if JB wants Stamkos and Lucic he's got to go. No harm in signing UFA's IMO, especially young ones. Miracles aside, at least let him come into camp and fight for a roster spot.
