To be fair to Garth, he is referring to a tweet by Dan Seguin that says, "Eugene Melnyk says no one on the #Sens, including Erik Karlsson is untouchable. He'll leave that up to the hockey people." So the notion of Karlsson being on the block isn't actually coming from out of nowhere for a change.

You know we save over 2 million on the cap the next 2 years and 1+ million the third year if we buy him out in June? Then the 3 years after that, he's $888,888 on the cap. How is that not worth doing?

Oh well.. Murray is usually pretty honest about this kinda stuff.. Leino and Hodgson were "possibilities", Moulson was "no". Give him another year to train with the guidance of the team, see if he picks up his poop. I think this bad trend started with the Islanders when they soured on him prior to the Vanek trade. It makes a lot of sense, considering the years prior, Moulson was absolute money with JT. I'm hoping for the best for him. It's in everyone's best interest.

although we will continue to get better, i do not think we will be competing for a cup next year or the following. I would hold on to him so that we are not handicapped on the salary cap just to improve in a year when it doesn't matter..
