It's funny how they just seem to be ignoring Quebec after they ponied up the money. |

NHL playoff structure sucks. Flat out sucks. - Scoob
They could easily fix it by seeding 1 the 8 with the division winners getting the top two seeds, which was the system from 93-94 thru 97-98.
1 Was v 8 Det
2 Fla v 7 Phi
3 Pit v 6 TB
4 NYR v 5 NYI
1 Dal v 8 Min
2 Ana v 7 Nas
3 StL v 6 SJ
4 Chi vs 5 LA |

Theo was a using addict.
anything heard when Lindros refused to play hurt? There was serious negative PR campaign by team. He sure has plenty of former team mates he still goes fishing with. - bodiva88
I met Lindros a few times out and about in Sea Isle and Longport. He always was very polite and somewhat shy, but never a Richard. He just seemed like he wanted to be a normal guy and not be fawned over or hassled. |

Haha! Seattle makes sense. I can't see a professional sports team ever playing in Las Vegas. - PLindbergh31
I thought the NHL in Vegas was pretty much a done deal. No?
They have an arena (which looks nice from the outside). |

I'm almost positive it's going to be announced this season. Probably at the draft. |

Really? I had no clue. Haven't paid attention to that. So I guess every home game they play won't be listed at the sports book. I thought that was a major hurdle. |

Yeah, that's a shame. I think another team there could be great for the league.
Plus Canada needs all the chances it can get to get a team into the playoffs. lol |

The Islanders? I hear you can see the ice in Quebec. It's mandatory up there. |

Yeah. I wonder if the plan is on hold because they'd have other teams giving up a whole bunch of players in a two team expansion draft. |

Haha the new arena is nice, and I think they should have a team. If only to boot (frank) the poop out of Montreal each year. |

They wanted Seattle so bad. I don't think the two teams had anything to do with it. They committed to Vegas earlier and didn't want to expand in the East.
Logically, they should expand to Toronto and Quebec. |

Quebec was viable when the exchange rate was at parity, but do you see a team in a city of 500k residents being able to sustain $70-90M CAD in yearly player expenditures? |
|

There were rumors of Caggiula being interested earlier in the year, but those died down. The Canucks seem to have the inside track on both right now according to the webisphere - Coleman
Sounds like front runners for Frozen Four MOP Drake Caggiula are (in no order): CHI, EDM, PHI, VAN and OTT. I think BUF is in the mix, too.

Not sure about that. Both arenas come pretty close to capacity for their games, on average. For hockey, MTS Centre seats less than 15,500. Ottawa about 1,000 less than capacity. http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance |

I don't know. They support soccer.
But the people don't want to fund another new arena with tax bonds. |

I would fly to Vegas to see the Flyers play every time they were there. Flights are dirt cheap and nonstop from here. |
