You just have to be smart with your role players. And as guys age you start to move them.


Look at Chicago. They move a guy like Saad and replace him with Panarin.

I think that is too much tied to 3 players. Esp when you are looking at having big money most likely put into the defense. I mean, if Provorov is who expected and Ghost is Ghost they won't be cheap moving forward.

I don't think Gositsbhere can sign until next season. Provorov is going to be another 3 seasons I think till he can sign a new deal. Not every defenseman is going to be making 5-6 million.

Also in Stamkos I am not getting an aging vet. I am getting an bonafide sniper at age 26.

I understand the fear because of what might have happened in the past but I learn from it. I don't get scared from it. I don't sign role type players to big deals like Talbot and Read got. Your smarter in other areas. Plus if there is expansion I am guessing the cap will probably go up a little.

Kinda how I feel about it.

My heart says the Flyers win in 7.

My brain says the Caps win in 5.

I'm still cool with how this season went. They've made good strides, gotten away from some bad contracts, and gotten growth from some key young players.
