Why does everybody get their hopes up on a top 3 pick?

The odds have us picking 5th.

I don't like it, but that's the reality.

Highest odds is 5 actually, because six is only about 15% likelihood as each of the bottom three need to lose each lottery. you'll notice it on the simulator, we get 4th/5th more often than not.

IRREGARDLESS ( lol )

I hit the key next to 5th. Doesn't matter... Either way same result for all this lusting.

Exactly. I bet the Sedins know what the plan is and have had several meetings with MNGT. Beyond that they don't need to divulge much to the Players. Hammer and Burrows don't need to be told the teams direction as they most likely won't be here next season. Horvat will the the next Captain so I can see MNGT and coaching starting to include him in teams future plans and meetings but beyond Horvat and the Sedins right now...the rest of the players are in a 'don't need to know' area. Just because Botch the tool need something to stir crap up doesn't change the overall facts.

just waiting for the draft lottery to see the results. I think we will get a good player whichever pick we end up with.

It doesn't (frank)ing matter until they do the lottery. Speculating on where we pick is assin9. The best we pick is 1OA, the worse we pick is 6th. Somewhere in there is where we will be picking. But saying we will pick somewhere because the odds are greater is stupid.

I will say this, I see us drafting 1st.

Ive stayed fairly quiet on the NCAA front but I think it's apparent that there isn't a snowballs chance in hell either Demko or Boeser sign. Let's trade their negotiating rights for whatever we can get at this point

How is that different than anyone else saying I see us picking x?
nothing for you to flip out about, either way.

I was simply saying there's not much chance we pick 6th, seems pretty relevant.

You might say, more relevant than pointing out we won't know until the lottery happens, which is obvious.

Also posting this, right after posting about how people shouldn't post negative things is pretty (frank)ing classic.

I agree... I just see all this lusting for top 3 .... Just from the past alone with all the trade deadlines and UFA signings ( or lack of )...

I see everybody freaking the phuck out when that top 3 doesn't happen.

I think we're going to be bad enough for long enough that we'll get a few more shots at that first overall.

Odds don't mean sh1t. We have a 50/50 chance of getting first overall. Either we get it, or we don't. I am being very positive, saying we will get it.

I don't need negative nancys on here saying we are getting 5th because the odds say we will. If anything, we can discuss our pick as 3rd, because that's where we came in the standings.

I agree, we won't be picking 6th. I'd be shocked if we picked 5th. Therefore, therefore, we are picking in the top 4.

I feel like the rule changes need to happen with these draft pucks choosing not to sign, and becoming FA's. It seems pretty common now with the NCAA players. Time to stop drafting them.....is it just too risky?

In my opinion, if you don't sign with your drafted team, you should not be able to sign as an FA. And instead go back into the draft. Or better yet, be given a year penalty, where you cannot be drafted, and go play in europe or something, then you go into the next draft.
