while i agree JT is the better player... lets see how kadri does with linemates that actually deserve to be in the top 6 before making any final judgements

i would put money down tat kadri would have better seasons if he wasnt constantly saddled with guys like komarov (who i like, but he is a bottom 6 guy) and grabner

and then everyone points out how bad kadri is... its f'n ridiculous

- Dozzer

Tavares basically gave PAP and Moulson NHL contracts. It's not even close Dozz and I think Kadri is fine.

Kadri played with Kessel when Kessel was scoring 30 goals a season.

Why regret it, what has Steen done ?

.852ppg in the last three years while apparently being quite responsible at both ends of the ice is pretty good.

0.721 PPG average since he left toronto

roughly an average of 60P / season

easily top line numbers in the NHL these days

Like JT has been handed top 6 linemates. Holy smokes. Their talents are miles apart.

They are not that close in talent, and we all know he does nothing off the ice. Cept smoke pot and eat Doritos. SO, why read it again. He is not even close to JT in any category.

“Johnny’s a guy that works hard and that's something he’s learned from Day 1, so I’m getting my work ethic going and doing everything I can to be one of those players.”

He wants to be like tavares, he doesn't say he is tavares....he says his talent is similar, he doesn't say his talent is the same....he wants to work hard with the goal of being at tavares' level....good for him...everybody needs a goal...his goal is to be as good as tavares, and he believes that is a realistic goal....he didnt say he wants to be like crosby or shares similar talent/skill to crosby...if he wants to relate to tavares, so be it..it doesn't mean he will be as good as tavares, it means he wants to work hard to attain that comparable level

No need to
he's a decent 2nd line center

get over it.

He is exactly what was expected of him.

Except the diving and rat part.

i dont agree with you on this... you put kadri with JTs linemates and kadri is easily a 60P + player

how many assists did he miss out on because of the poop ass shots of his wingers?

To be fair.

James Tanner proved that there is no difference in the talent level of NHL players and that if there is ANY it is so minuscule as to be inconsequential. So Kadri is right...and leads the league in "expected goals."

- AdamFrench

If you actually took the time to read Tanner's blog, you'd know that Kadri leads the league in expected goals/60 minutes in 5 on 5 situations.

The bar graph was stunning.

Kadri has had opertunities in the past to prove he can be a 1C and still has not proved it. He is a good 2C and if his contract demands are inline they will most likely keep him. But if he feels he has struck gold, I have no doubt they have backup plans to move him.

IMO Kadri bought into Babs system this season and I think unexpectedly made the decision that much tougher for management. I have no doubt at the start of the season signing him to a 1-year deal they were originally positioning themselves for a pump and dump scenario.

Should make the draft very interesting

the weight a players comments carry with fans and how they view a player is mind bottling ..

Oh cool a player compared himself to another player... who cares

I care what he can do for the team on the ice.

what about the wing? I like having flexibility in todays NHL. Get rid of Holland and let Kadri shift to the wing and fill in at C when needed (if we get 2 cs this summer)

Nothing wrong with wanting to be like JT.
90% of forwards should want that.

He's nothing like JT....no harm in wanting to be.
