Lupul is a really good player but enough is enough...it will be interesting to see what happens with him, but regardless, I think he's played his last Leaf game - jimi james
He's got two more years at 5.25M, so he's not going to sit for that long, no way.
Lupul plays next year for sure. If he can stay healthy then maybe he gets moved in 17/18, but we're taking salary back for sure.
Kadri is better than 75% of these guys easy, and he was ranked 15th in NA by central scouting. People have wild expectations of undrafted prospects and automatically assume they will meet whatever expectations they dream up about them. If Tkatchuk was drafted 5th do you think he'll turn out to be better than Kadri? History says probably not. The truth is that Kadri was a very solid pick at 7. I know some people here are addicted to losing in a weird Stockholm syndrome type of way, like they don't deserve to win ever again. And thats why some would trade Kadri for the 5th overall, because it would set the team back due to having to develop a player who may never even become as good as Kadri anyways. The hate people have towards him really makes me wonder if it has nothing to do with his game, but other more ideological and sinister reasons. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Just out of curiosity, are you a Caucasian?
Throwing out a race card is absurd and I wonder if you feel overly protective of Kadri due to your own insecurities.
I could care less if Kadri is white, black, yellow, orange or green. I could care less if Kadri were Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, Atheist, Buddhist or an Alien - and I doubt most other Leaf fans care either.
I just hate his attitude, his narcissism, his diving, all the excuses made for him ("if" this and "if" that) and would love to see him moved to another team. I wouldn't give him away and would expect value back but would welcome that change.
Depending on how things pan out with draft and free agents, Kadri (especially with what his salary demands will be) will better serve the Leafs as trade bait.
We need that SWAG, that's what will make toronto great again.
None of this pansy ass lost bs we've been living in.

I have all the love for my man from Malvern, but there's no way in a million years that the Flyers and Leafs could align on a trade for Simmonds with their current rosters and assets.

Just silliness to think the fans that want Kadri traded are anything but hockey related.

Lou's the mafia.
These are not things we need to think about
But I hear you, I just did some nhl GM mode, it got me dreaming.
but lacks the mentality to push us to the next level. that became true when he compared himself to tavares. Maybe he is as skilled, but the mind behind tavares will destroy kadri on and off the ice.

For all the Kadri talk the answer is simple
Good skill, pesky rat everyone needs

Oh FFS, this is exactly why Toronto can't have nice things.
He said that he needed to push himself more - that his goal was to be as good at Tavares.
Why the frank do Toronto fans twist this into Kadri saying he's God's gift to hockey?
Read what he actually said without drinking so much Hateraid.
what the (frank) is going on in here today? - gravyface
What do you think of Kadri's mentality. I just don't think its Champion caliber. Look at the top players, thats what separates them from Kadri (with a little more skill)

Digging a little deep on this one. Pretty sure amateur psychoanalysis of other posters is against the COC.
