exactly.
throwing away either or both of Kadri and Bozak at this point would qualify as "poor asset management" primarily because both have experience and both will have some value if and when its determine they are redundant.
my guess is Kadri gets a 5x5 offer from Lou or thereabouts.
The huge benefit of moving both Kessel and Phaneuf's contracts was the elimination of the need to overpay up and coming young players. Do you think Rielly gets more money if Phaneuf is in Toronto? of course he does?
THe beauty of removing those players and their contracts was more then just removing them from the roster.
Hopefully Lou is focusing his attention between now and the draft and then FreeAgency is upon how to deal with Lupul's contract, he's already eliminated Robidas - and he'd really kill it if he can eliminate another hefty contract (anyone of Bernier/Michalek ...)
I'm really curious to see what Lou attempts to do with the goaltending. I can't imagine that he'll stands pat. - BorjeFan4Ever
I think Lou goes after Corey Schneider. He has a big contract, Devils are hard up for cash. Lou knows it. Just my opinion, but could happen. |

I think the Blackhawks top-4 got considerably weaker with TVR over Oduya and their 5-6 is rather awful all things considered (a 90 year old Rozsival and a rotating array of suck). That will probably lead to them losing...but never bet on the Blues jimi. They always disappoint somehow. |

Remember the year the Kings won from 8th place? Sharks had them dead to rights at 3-0 and let it slip through their fingers. Joe Thornton had one of the most dominating two-way years of his career and I still don't trust them. |

Hopefully Calgary or Carolina will take Bernier
I think Lupul is done
Michalek prob stays
Lou will pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat and we will have a new starting goalie - jimi james
let's hope so... I love the end of year "locker clean-out" interview (all 45 secs of it)...
"its was a tough season"... "I played well the last 20 games".... ahh... you played okay after Reimer was traded, yes you had a few very good games... but NO - you weren't great for 20 games.

When Wash picked up Williams and Oshie, I thought this is Washington's year if Holtby steps up...which he did
If Philly (frank)s this up, I agree that the east becomes wide open |

Holtby is a big Question Mark.
The goaltender that thrives on a heavy workload has arguably not recovered. In his 20 starts since the all-star break, Braden Holtby has a .903 save percentage and a 2.50 goals-against average, and he’s been pulled from a game three times. Before then, he was the runaway Vezina Trophy favorite with a .920 save percentage and a 2.07 goals-against average |

He still tied Brodeur's NHL record single season win total with 48 which is amazing |

I bolded my changes. I don't think Marner makes the team, and I think the trade for Shats is Kadri. Plus I think Brown and Sosh make the team as well
and Brooks on the 4th line. Kapanen is far from ready, betcha it's Leo instead

What's interesting to me is how Robidas and (presumably) Lupul are getting Lou'ed without a squeak out of both of them.
Robidas is broken and is at the end of his career/contract, but Lupul has a lot of hockey left at 32, because his injuries have all been mostly unrelated flukey ones, not nagging, cumulative ones. |

Lupul is a really good player but enough is enough...it will be interesting to see what happens with him, but regardless, I think he's played his last Leaf game |

It's definitely crazy to think about, but I have no doubt in my mind that Lupul never plays another game with the Leafs. |

Sosh will be the team shiit disturber next year. Not Kadri, my guess. |
