Bigalow is from Chilliwack. Guys in Chilliwack like to cause trouble
- bloatedmosquito

It's his 3rd or 4th alt. The other ones have received lengthy bans.

It won't be long before this ones true persona comes out.

5 mil for a second rounder when we have tons of young players
- VANTEL

it is actually 2mill. And yes 2 Mill for a second is very cheap but otherwise we buy out burr and get nothing.
Before you ask here is the breakdown.

Burr if bought out is going to be 1mil+ per the next 2 seasons.
Current Cap hit. 4.5

Datsuk Cap is 7.5.

Straight across is 3mil then we gain another mill by not buying out Burr and that makes it 2mill.

To further my argument, look at the contracts traded at the deadline that yielded a 2nd and none of them were lower then 3mil. So this is same as trading a player with 2mil expiring contract for a 2nd rounder.

But I assume you would rather spend that cap on some aging vet like Lucic. We are about 3 years away from playoffs. No one we can bring now will help us on 3 years unless they are in their mid to late 20's.
And for the record, I think we finally make the playoffs in 3 years and actually compete and become a legitimate contender by 5-7 years from now.

Big talk out of MTL that Subban will be shopped and available for trade.

What will it take to get him to Van?

Was kind of hoping Burrows Higgins and a pick would get it done...

I think something like PK for Leon and a swap of 1sts might get it done.

Doubt Draisaitl goes anywhere. Habs will need to look at Yak Eberle or RNH.

$9M per. That makes him the cornerstone of any franchise. He has a quirky personality. Not sure I would want to build a franchise around him.

Not sure why he would be trolling if he's a flames supporter. Talk about not even remotely meeting expectations.

We can end the Subban discussion now as MB just confirmed to the Media he has absolutely no intention of trading an "elite" d-man in Subban.

Right after MT is fired as head coach? That team is going no where FAST with that head coach...

I am not suggesting it is more or less risky. There must be a reason kids choose to commit to colleges as opposed to CHL/USHL clubs. I have a feeling that both Demko and Boeser go back to one more year to their respective colleges.
- Codes1087

Yeah risky wasnt really the word I wanted to use, but guys usually make the decision to say "I want to go for the show" and take WHL, vs the cautious "life after hockey" route and NCAA. Its just less known that the CHL does provide scholarships to everyone, but these guys get so ingrained in that lifestyle that they would rather take the $50,000 salary playing hockey than make that at the desk which causes them to lose that chance at education.

I dont see Demko going back at all. The kid is very bright and I can see him either doing distance learning to finish his degree, or promising his mom he will put his signing bonus in an education fund to finish up when he's done hockey

Boeser has been a hard guy to read personality-wise for me. I get the sense he loves hockey and is a hockey player first, which is why I think he will go pro but being the star on campus at a hockey crazy school is tough to walk away from. Then if education is a factor he could at least get a diploma by staying another year, its a tough call

Cagguila and Stecher have one more year left each. Why wouldn't they stay and get their degree's after spending 3 years at the University.
- Codes1087

Cagguila was a senior, he's done his 4 years at UND. Stecher has another year though
