The most important thing about the Caps/Flyers series isn't who wins but that the series goes seven overtime games and the winner is really beaten up afterward. The Capitals need to protect Holtby - the Flyers are going to go after him (it won't be the first time).

Probably shouldn't be throwing stones when you live in a glass house. Or did you forget that your pens took out Mason right before our playoff series vs Rangers

I don't think the Flyers have 1 hope in hell to beat the Caps. Not that the Caps are unbeatable, it's just when the bully gets bullied they turn & cry. Time will tell, but I think the Caps will beat the living Phil out of a Delphia!!!

Yes, Tampa is injured, but the Rangers just sat a bunch of their best players and still worked over the Wings. I saw nothing in that game that showed me Detroit is ready to beat anybody -- even an injured team -- in a 7 game series.

Tampa in 6, Caps in 6.

Can somebody shed some light please on the rules for 2nd round
matchup

I heard it is best against worst, but is it accordinging stricly to points ?

Here an example, lets say for argument sakes, both the NYI and Det win their series, who is consider the best ? Detroit at 93 pts but 3rd in their division, or NYI drafted team but at 100 pts ?

in other words, who getting the Caps in my scenario the 2nd round, the isl or det ?

Thanks

The new system is now bracketed, like NCAA tourney. To make it more fun, apparently. So matchups can be found here.

It's dumb. So the Pens, Flyers, Rags, and Caps get to beat up on each other for 2 series, possible giving one of the teams in the other conference an easy ECF round against an abused hockey team. Also the old way I believe it would be Flyers Pens round 1 based on points.

In old format
first round: DC vs DET, PHL v Pitts, FL TB, ISL NYR

I don't think TB or DET are exactly patty cake teams in any event.

All games will be on national cable networks in the Comcast NBC family. All stations for first-round games are on the NHL.com site in the playoffs tab.
