@jonassiegel: Lou Lamoriello says Stephane Robidas's career could be over. Says he doesn't know whether Robidas or Joffrey Lupul will play next season.
Holy moly, lupul already being ruled out for next year. - burn
welcome to Lupul island.

I agree with all of that except Risto = Reilly. I like Morgan Reilly, and it may be homerish of me to say, but I feel Risto has more upside that Reilly. I see Reilly maxing out as a really good top four, but Risto has top 5 D-Manin the league potential. Again, IMO. - tomt8391
Yup.
Both are young still.. risto seems to have a bit more offensive ability at this point, but i think Rielly was given a more defensive role this year. He needs to work on his shot. |

Kane put up 35pts this season.. thats pretty lousy.. Kadri > ROR imo.. Eichel theres no comparable, but if Nylander played a full season his pts total would be nearly the same.. Marner we can assume would be similar to Reinhart.. buffalo doesnt have the farm TO does.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Honest question. Are you being serious when you type Kadri > ROR ?

Risto played a big time defensive role. Massive defensive minutes, more so than Rielly. In games I saw he was unimpressive defensively but everyone loves him so I'll just assume I saw all his bad games or something. |

Why? Reilly was top 20 in Es pts. He's a stud.
I think top 5 in the league is pie in the sky wishful thinking. |

Really matched up the other team's top offensive lines all year, so I find that hard to believe. |

Yeah..
Points are 1 thing and ROR beat him this season in that department. Kadri had literally the worst wingers imaginable. If he played with JVR he could easily hit 60 like ROR.. ROR is kinda soft imo.. id prefer kadri just because of all the other elements to his game. But its just my opinion and i understand why you'd disagree. |

36.0% defensive zone faceoffs, 27.9% offensive zone faceoffs for risto
34.2% defensive zone faceoffs, 30% offensive zone faceoffs for rielly
25 minutes a game for risto, 23 for rielly. SH TOI around the same for both (slight edge to risto)

as long as kadri doesn't get overpaid i take kadri simply due to contract. $7.5M for o'reilly? WTF. he's unquestionably better than kadri though. |

They are both really young.. both have massive potential. When Keith, weber, suter, chara, start slowing down the Ristos Riellys and ghostbears will be seen as top flight guys. Karlsson and Doughty will hold the 1-2 spots for the next decade. |

I think anyone would disagree.
Whenever anyone talks about Kadri it's always if this and if that
If he didn't get off to a slow start (bad argument)... He got off to a slow start.. It is what it is. That's why 50 point guys are 50 point guys
ROR is soft. You're right. But he is better than kadri at this point in time |

No.. he really isnt...
The bias against Kadri is strong. ROR had better wingers.. 60 pts is decent in todays NHL.. and i think thats what we can expect from Nazem going forward. Plus all the other elements to Kadris game is why id prefer Naz. |

He's soft from a "I won't fight you for no reason, or destroy you in open ice" standpoint, but he plays a really heavy in tight, grinding down low style of hockey. He also has the finesse to compliment that play. I do like Kadri's skill set, but I wouldn't consider him a tough player.

You gotta consider buffs PP has Eichel and reinhart.. TO's PP has PAP and (frank)ing Grabner.. im not saying Kadri is far better than ROR, im just saying id prefer him for the reason stated.

He's definitely tough to play against in the sense you can't put your stick 2 feet away from his feet or else he will go down like a sack of bricks.
But he will light you up from time to time |
